Jacob Webley born circa 1790. He was a tiler and plasterer and married Sarah Read as Bristol in
1813. They lived at Hambrook, Winterbourne. Sarah was buried at St John the Baptist Church,
Frechay on 16 Apr 1850.
1 Isaac Webley baptised 12 Sep 1819 at St Michael the Archangel Winterbourne,
Gloucestershire was a plasterer and painter. He was unmarried and a border living with
Leach family in 1861. He married Ellen Simmonds 2 Apr 1870 at SS Philip & Jacobs. Ellen
was the daughter of Thomas Simmonds, and was 26 years his junior. They were living at
Cottage Street Keynsham, Somerset in 1871 with a child called Louisa Simmonds.

3 Moses Webley baptised 4 Jul 1824 at Winterbourne, Gloucester. He married Elizabeth
Peters, a Haberdasher 26 Dec 1853 at St Luke’s Brislington. Elizabeth was a haberdasher
and the daughter of William Peters. Moses was a Master builder employing 6 men and 1
boy and the family were living at Brislington, Keynsham, Somerset in 1881. Moses and his
wife were living with their son Frank in 1901. Moses died 28 Mar 1917.

builder.
4 Daniel Webley baptised 7 Sep 1828 at St Michael the Archangel, Winterbourne. He married
Phoebe Anne Lloyd on 15 Feb 1855. Phoebe was the daughter of James Lloyd. He was
steward & gardener to Sir Hugh Gough at St Helen’s, Booterstown. He was famous for his
bedding plants and he transformed the gardens. He designed the floral Indian Cross & St
Patrick's jewel on the terraces. He also designed the conservatory terrace or bell terrace,
so called from a large Chinese bell, placed there, which was taken from the fort of Canton
by the late Lord Gough in 1849.
1 Edwin John Lloyd Webley only child born 8 Oct 1859 died at St Helen’s Booterstown
on 4 Mar 1867 and was buried at Stillorgan graveyard.
They moved to Australia after the death of Lord Gough in 1869.
5 Elizabeth Webley baptised 16 Oct 1831 at Winterbourne.

Jacob Webley born circa 1790. He was a tiler and plasterer and married Sarah Read as Bristol in
1813. They lived at Hambrook, Winterbourne. Sarah was buried at St John the Baptist Church,
Frechay on 16 Apr 1850.
