John James Watts a Joiner of 9 Upper Erne Street son of James Watts a cabinet maker and his
wife Mary. He married Jane Harris of 4 Denzille Place daughter of Daniel Harris a Boatswain
on 20.12.1876. John James was very close to his uncle John Watts who lived at Temple Hill,
Blackrock and who may have been a witness at his marriage. John was a cabinet maker and
died 08.01.1884 at Kelly's Avenue and was buried at Deansgrange.
1 John James Watts born 02.04.1871. He was baptised shortly before his marriage at St
Mary’s Haddington Road RC Church on 17.03.1889, his address given as Plymouth. He
married Esther McDonnell at Donnybrook RC Church on 14.04.1890. John was a
stonecutter resident at Carrick, Edenderry and Esther was the daughter of James
McDonnell, a gardener. By 1893 they were living at Hill House, Donnybrook and James
was working at the Marble Works in Deansgrange.

Deansgrange and was buried with his grandfather at Deansgrange.
2 Kate Matilda Watts born 23.05.1872 at 8 York Street. Kate was living at Brooklawn in
1895 probably working for the Miller family. She was the informant at the death of her
great uncle John Watts of Temple Hill in 1886. She married Corporal William Maguire
13th Hussars of the Military Barracks, Dundalk son of William Maguire a Solicitor on
23.10.1895 at Booterstown Parish Church.
3 Grace Watts born 01.01.1874 at 9 York Street, Kingstown, baptised at Kingstown.
4 Frederick Ernest Watts born 15.10.1875 at Kelly’s Avenue, Kingstown.
5 Jane Anne Watts born 07.07.1877 at Kellys Avenue working as a Nurse Domestic for
Richard Chaytor Miller at Brooklawn Mount Merrion Avenue in 1901.
6 William Francis Watts born 17.08.1879 at Kellys Avenue and died on 11.10.1879 aged 8
weeks at same place and is buried at Deansgrange.
7 Lavinia Jessie Watts born 02.01.1881 at Kellys Avenue working as a parlour maid for
Richard Chaytor Miller at Brooklawn Mount Merrion Avenue in 1901. Lavinia married
William Henry Spencer circa July 1907 in Birkenhead. Her sister Jane Anne was living with
them at 81 Serpentine Road, Liscard in Cheshire in 1911. William and Lavinia were still
living at that address in 1921.
8 Rachel Hester Watts born 17.03.1883 at Kellys Avenue and died on 30.03.1883 aged 12
days and is buried at Deansgrange.
9 Georgina Alice Watts born 02.04.1884 at Kellys Avenue and died 15.07.1892 at Monkstown
Hospital and is buried at Deansgrange.
