James Currie Trench born 24.06.1848 son of Rev Frederic FitzJohn Trench and Elizabeth
Maconchy. He was a land agent of 5 St James Terrace, Clonskeagh and married Annie
Gertrude Haughton daughter of John Haughton in 1883. His clients included Lord
Guillamore - Hardress Standish O'Grady and Major Theo Gardiner of Glanmore Castle in
Ashford. The family lived at Beverston from 1894 to 1899 and were at Coolgraney in
Dundrum from 1900 to at least 1914. The family identified as 'Christian of no denomination'
in both 1901 and 1911 and James traversed the country as a lay preacher holding prayer
meetings and delivering Gospel addresses. James died 23.01.1936 at Corofin, 41 St Helen's
Road in Booterstown as did Annie on 18.09.1944. Their son in law Raymond Stephenson the
informant and they were both interred at Mount Jerome.

Frederic a motor engineer of Coolgreaney, Dundrum served in the Tank Corps and
married Harriett Elizabeth Fagan daughter of Thomas Fagan of Racefield House,
Kingstown on 01.08.1911 at the Registrar’s Office, Dublin.
1 Doreen Virginia Trench born 1911 married John Richard Needham of Syston,
Leicester son of John Needham on 31.03.1934 at St Ann’s Parish Church,
Dublin. She died 14.02.1969.
2 Aileen Agnes Currie Trench born 14.01.1891 at 29 Upper Mount Street. Aileen
married Louis William Edward Evans a widower of Douglas, Isle of Man son of
Richard Evans on 28.07.1936 at St Ann’s Parish Church, Dublin.
3 Muriel Constance Trench born 22.01.1892 at 29 Upper Mount Street. Muriel
married Raymond Croisdale Stevenson an Architect of Raglan Road son on Thomas
A Stevenson on 30.03.1920 at the Registrar’s Office, Dublin. Raymond worked in
the City Housing Architect’s department under Herbert George Simms. Raymond
died on 23.12.1962 aged 71 and Muriel died 02.11.1964 aged 72 years at Royal City
of Dublin Hospital both late 24 Wellington Road.
4 Alfred Lionel Trench born 07.09.1894 at Beverston, Mount Anville and died from flu
on 07.04.1912 aged 17 years at Bloomfield, Donnybrook late of Coolgreaney,
Dundrum and is buried at Mount Jerome.
5 Amy Teodora Trench born 27.01.1896 at Beverston, Anville. Amy of 19 Raglan
Road married James Alfred Stuart Watt son of Stuart Watt of Endsleigh Gardens,
London on 05.09.1922 at the Registrar’s Office, Dublin.
6 Maria Helena Elizabeth Trench born 19.12.1897 at Beverston, Mount Anville.
Maria died unmarried on 04.02.1964 aged 66 years at Merrion Nursing Home
late of 24 Wellington Road, Dublin.
