William Treffry (Possibly William Treffry born 29 Jun 1775 at Cornwall to Roger Treffey
and Mary Veale). He married Blanchette Stile on 8 Jul 1811 at Plymouth. Blanchette was
the daughter of Thomas Stile. They moved to London and in 1841 they were living at
Edward Street, St Leonard, Shoreditch (Tower Hamlets) and William was an engineer.
1 William Henry Treffry born 8 Feb 1810 at St Andrews, Plymouth a civil engineer
married Elizabeth Jane Prideaux only daughter and heir of Walter Prideaux on
02.96.1838 at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch, London. Elizabeth died on
02.04.1888 at Brook House, The Commons, Ealing.
1 Laura Prideaux Treffry born circa 1839 at Shoreditch married Thomas
Symes Prideaux a widower and civil engineer son of Robert Prideaux
on 13.09.1856 at Marylebone Parish Church. Thomas died 31.07.1885
in Acton.
2 Julia Appel Treffry born 07.11.1840 at Shoreditch
3 Frederic Treffry born 1844 in Shorditch. He was stationed at Cairo and
married Florence Rose Simmonds on 17 Apr 1895 at Clapham. Frederic
died 15 Oct 1907 at 9 Raglan Road and was buried in Mount Jerome and
a plaque in his memory was installed at St Fimbarrus Churchyard, Fowey,
Cornwall by his widow. He was a colonel/chief paymaster in the Army
Pay Department. He left £1761 in personal estate in the UK. His widow F
Florence Rose and William Henry Treffry, professor of music were his
executors. Mrs Treffry living at Raglan Road in 1910. Florence Rose
possible remarried Thomas Usborne in 1912.
1 Phyllis Rose Treffry born 8 Oct 1899 at 9 Raglan Road was a VAD
during WW1. She married Thomas Francis Vere Foster at Kensington
in 1926. Thomas was a retired army officer and they went to Kenya
in 1959. Phyllis died in Lincoln in 1965.
4 Walter Henry Treffry born circa 1847 in Surrey. He acted as groomsman
to his brother Frederic in 1895. He was a Professor of Music living with
his sister Laura in 1901.
2 Henry William Treffry born 5 May 1819 at St Leonard Shoreditch. He was an
engineer living with his parents in 1841. He was a noted as a visitor in his sister’s
household in 1871 and was a commission merchant in cotton. He was on the
board of North Dublin Street Tramways Company in 1877. He lived at Lonsdale
from 1882 to 1895. He died a bachelor on 5 Mar 1899 at Harrington Street.
David Malcomson (the previous occupant of Lonsdale) was his executor.
3 Charles William Treffry born 24 Apr 1823 died 15 Aug 1833 at St Leonard,
Shoreditch was buried at a Quaker graveyard but was not a member.
4 Mary Jane Treffry born 23 May 1821 at St Leonard Shoreditch. An unemployed
governess living with her parents in 1841 and n 1871.
5 Jane Treffry born 20 Mar 1825 at St Leonard Shoreditch living with her parents in
1841 married George William Pound at Newington, London in 1850.
1 Blanche Pound born circa 1852 in Middlesex living with her aunt in 1871.
6 Elizabeth Fanny Treffry born 25 Oct 1827 in London living with her parents in
1841 and a governess in 1871.
