1 John Edward Tarleton born 12 Aug 1831 in Dunleckney, County Carlow was a solicitor living at
Rathmines and married Henrietta Mayne, daughter of Richard Mayne of Kingstown at
Monkstown Parish Church on 1 Jun 1865. The lived at Clonmore from 1875 to 1876 and John
kept fox terriers and a pointer. Henrietta died at Clonmore on 21 May 1878 aged 34 and was
buried in the family grave at Mount Jerome.
John secondly married married Victoria Eleanor Sheppard on the 24 Jan 1880 at All Saint's
Church, Cheltenham. John had his office at 20 Upper Temple Street before moving to 5 St
Stephen’s Green North and in 1886 he lost all his money. The contents of Clonmore were
auctioned in September that year. The family even had to sell their church pew at Stillorgan
which was bought by the Darleys of Ferney. Their children John & Victoria were born while they
were living at Clonmore and were baptised at Stillorgan Parish Church. Victoria died at Wilmont
House, Killiney on 19 Aug 1909 aged 68 and was buried at Mount Jerome. John died at Wilmont
House, Killiney on 9 May 1913 and was buried at Mount Jerome.
1 John Blakely Tarleton born 25 Nov 1880 at Clonmore took Holy orders and married Bella
Ethel Maude Murray, the daughter of William Daniel Murray at Christ Church, Leeson Park
on 20 Apr 1910. He was rector of Castledawson from 1909 to 1916 and died at the
Meath hospital on 4 Nov 1948.
2 Victoria Eliza Tarleton born 1 Apr 1864 at Clonmore married George William Dunscombe
on 25 Apr 1922 at Rathmichael Church.
2 Mary Josephine Tarleton born 15 Jan 1833, died 8 Mar 1858 at Heytesbury Terrace and was buried
in the family grave at Mount Jerome.
3 Matthew Weld Tarleton born 8 Sep 1835 at Dunleckney was lost at sea in 1855.
4 Blakely Lorenzo Tarleton born 1 Oct 1837 married Annie Eliza Handy at Berkenhead, Cheshire
on 28 Oct 1864.
5 Frances Georgina Tarleton born 9 Dec 1840 died 27 Jan 1872 at upper Temple Street.
