John Power born circa 1771, 1st Baronet of Roebuck House, Dublin and Sampton, Co Wexford,
Chairman of John Power & Son Distillers DL & JP. John married Mary Brennan of Wexford on
26.09.1799, was created Baronet on 18th October 1841. John died 26.06.1855 late of Roebuck
House and is interred in the vaults of Marlborough Street Cathedral.
1 Sir James Power only son born 06.12.1800, 2nd Baronet of Edermine, Enniscorthy and
Sampton, Co Wexford married Jane Anne Eliza Talbot 2nd daughter of John Hyacinth
Talbot late MP for New Ross on 26.01.1843 in the Domestic Chapel, Ballytrent. James
was a JP for Wexford, High Sheriff 1849, DL & JP City of Dublin, MP Wexford. James
died on 30.09.1877 at Edermine, Wexford. Jane died on 29.11.1893 aged 68 years at
Chesterfield, Cross Avenue, Blackrock.

2 John Talbot-Power eldest son born 02.05.1845, 3rd Baronet, married Frances Emma
Segrave eldest daughter of Captain Henry Seagrave of Ely House, Chief Constable
of Wolverhampton on 21.11.1876 at St Mary’s and John’s Church, Snow Hill,
Wolverhampton. John died on 04.12.1901 aged 56 years at his residence Edermine.
Frances Emma then married Anthony Loftus Cliffe DL of Belle Vue, Killurin, Wexford
son of Anthony John Cliffe on 23.07.1904 at the Church of the Assumption, Warwick
Street, Regent Street, Westminster. Anthony died 30.12.1921 aged 60 years residing
at Jules Hotel, Jermyn Street, London. Lady Talbot-Power Cliffe died 02.07.1941 at
Church Street Nursing Home following an operation in Bath.
1 Eileen Mareli Talbot-Power only daughter born 08.07.1880 at Kiltymon,
Wicklow. Eileen married Durham Simpson Matthews of the 17th Lancers only
son of Thomas B Matthews of Thorp Arch Hall, Yorkshire on 17.04.1902 at
the Church of the Assumption, Warwick Street, Westminster. Durham died on
17.12.1950 aged 74 years at Newmarket.

Baronet. James of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles was educated at
Downside. James died unmarried on 04.12.1914 aged 30 years in London.
3 Mary Jane Power, eldest daughter born 10.07.1846 at Edermine, Wexford married James
P Devereux of Rockland, Wexford on 23.01.1872 at St. Andrew's Church, Westland Row,
Dublin.
4 Gwendoline Agnes Power 2nd daughter born 14.09.1847 at Edermine, Wexford married
Major General Thaddeus Richard Ryan D.L., J.P., of Scarteen House, Emly son of John
Ryan on 31.05.1870 at University Church, St. Stephen's Green. Gwendoline died on
10.07.1920 and Thaddeus died 04.01.1905.
1 William Ryan born 08.03.1875 in Limerick married Philomena Mary daughter of
James Paul Smith - Steinmetz on 16.04.1913 at the Roman Catholic Church in
Tipperary. William was a distiller and director of John Power & Sons. William
died on 15.02.1957 Thornhill, Stillorgan, the funeral was at St Laurences,
Kilmacud and burial at Deangrange cemetery. Philomena born circa 1883 died
24 Dec 1959 at Thornhill, Stillorgan, her funeral was at St Laurence's Kilmacud
and burial at Deansgrange cemetery. William & Philomena were parents to
John Archibald, Clemont J, Margaret Mary, James Paul and to Veronica who
established "The Children's House", Montessori School at Stillorgan.

7 Charles Reginald Joseph O'Reilly, MB., MC., DSO., born 09.04.1891 at Sans Souci,
youngest son and captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps married Mary Dorothy
Martin eldest daughter of Francis Vincent Martin of Craigmore, Blackrock at
the Roman Catholic Church, Booterstown on 08.02.1922 and had three children
Francis, Maime & June.
6 James Talbot-Power, 2nd son born 23.06.1851, 5th Baronet married Gertrude Frances
Hayes only child of Thomas Hayes of Grenville House, Cork on 10.04.1877 at St Peter
and Paul Church, Cork. Throughout his life James served on various Boards and
Committees such as Cork Street and Jervis Street Hospitals and was known for his
charitable works. In 1910 he supplied his own horses, carts and workmen for clearing
the ground of Jervis Street for the new Dispensary. A keen photographer James took
images of the back streets of Dublin between 1888 and 1890 and these photos were
presented to Spencer Harty the City engineer at Christmas 1890. James died dsp on
04.07.1916 aged 65 years at Leopardstown Park. Informant was his nephew Bertram
J O’Reilly of Sans Souci, Booterstown. Eyebrows were raised when three months later
Gertrude married Bernard Simon Dunning son of Simon Dunning and Elizabeth
Burder on 04.10.1916 at St Anthony of Padua Church, Radlett in Hertfordshire.
Bernard had been the private secretary to their friend and neighbour Horace Plunkett.
In 1917 Gertrude deeded in trust Leopardstown Park to the British Ministry of
Pensions for use as a hospital to provide care for British Officers and men who were
disabled or wounded. Locals remembered these men in their distinctive blue
uniforms, white shirt and red ties walking down to Byrnes Pub for a pint. The Hospital
is now run by the HSE. Gertrude died on 27.06.1926 at 50 Norfolk Road, Littlehampton,
Sussex. Bernard then married Dorothy Helen Edwards daughter of William Edwards
on 13.12.1929 in New York. Bernard died on 18.09.1938 aged 75 years at 20
Bracknell Gate, Hamstead.
7 Thomas Talbot-Power, 3rd son born 03.05.1863, 6th and last Baronet married
Margaret Fitzgerald Martin daughter of Thomas Sherlock Shannon Martin and Emma
Robertson Routledge on 06.05.1884 at the Chapel of His Eminence MacCabe in
Rutland Square, Dublin. They lived at Mount Merrion until 1905 and were living at
Thornhill, Stillorgan in 1908. Lady Margaret died on 10.01.1930 aged 70 years and Sir
Thomas died dsp on 06.07.1930 aged 69 years both at their residence Ayesha, Killiney.
