Henry William Talbot son of William Henry Talbot married Elinor Leech daughter of John Leech in 1829
in Ennis. Henry was joint partner with Francis H Sheilds of Parsonstown of the Kings County Chronicle
Newspaper which was dissolved in 1847. Henry was proprietor of the Leinster Express and lived at
Rosefield circa 1845 to 1848.

1 James Leech Talbot eldest son born circa 1830 Queens County educated Trinity College. James a
Barrister was called to the Irish Bar in 1852 emigrated to Canada in May 1855. James drowned in
Lake Ontario, Canada circa November 1856 aged 26 years.
2 Marcus Talbot born circa 1834 also emigrated to Canada and was editor of the Middlesex
Prototype. Marcus returned to Dublin on the death of his father and married Jessica Eccles
youngest daughter of late Captain Hugh Eccles of H.M. 61st Regiment formerly of Bath and now
residing in Canada circa December 1859 at Paddington, London. Both Marcus and Jessica
drowned on board the Hungarian off Cape Sable on the coast of Nova Scotia in March 1860 on
their return to Canada.
3 Ellen Talbot eldest daughter born circa 1835 married John Hunt Cumming of the 9th Foot son of Rev
Patrick M Cumming, Rector of Prior and Dromid on 09.02.1858 at Monkstown Parish Church.
Witnesses: Henry W Talbot and John Lardner Burke.
4 Henry William Talbot 3rd son born circa 1834. Henry became proprietor of the Leinster Express and
died unmarried on 15.12.1866 aged 32 years at Maryborough .
5 Olivia St Clair Talbot born circa 1841 married John Nicholson on 26.01.1860 at Maryborough Parish
Church. Witnesses: Marcus Talbot and L.N. Harvery, Jun.
6 Gilbert Joseph Talbot born circa 1843 an RIC Officer married Emily Adelaide Towley of Cootehill
daughter of John Townley on 16.12.1870 at St Ann’s Parish Church, Dublin. Witnesses: Thomas
Edmund Wright and John Adair. Gilbert died on 06.11.1916 aged 73 years at 7 Knapton Terrace,
Monkstown and is buried at Deansgrange. Emily died on 29.07.1923 aged 79 years at Carrick-on-
Shannon.
7 Gertrude Talbot 3rd daughter born circa 1847 died circa 11.03.1865 aged 18 years at Maryborough.
8 George Washington Talbot born 08.12.1848 at Rosefield was educated at Trinity College. He married
Alicia Bloxham nee Dyer of 2 Vergemont, Clonskeagh daughter of Edward Dyer and widow of Mark
Bloxham on 26.04.1877 at Donnybrook Parish Church. Alicia died 07.02.1890 Westkinsington. He
appears that George secondly married Elizabeth O'Connell (no marriage record found) and they had a
child. Elizabeth wife of George Washington Talbot died by poison in September 1902 aged 44 years
at their home on Edith Road, Fulham.
1 George Cecil Talbot or O'Connell born June 1886 at Fulham.
George of Courtfield gardens thirdly married Catherine May Hoe Smith of the cottage, Ginnersbury
Park at St Jude's, Kensington in May 1913. George formerly editor of the Morning Advertiser,
youngest and last surviving son died 05.10.1927 late of the Cottage, Gunnersbury Park.
