William Stuart born 25.02.1828 in Scotland married Mary Reddin in 1851. William was the gardener/
steward at Westbury and died in 1891. He left 1.4K in personal estate, executors were Duncan Welsh,
gardener of Mount Merrion and Daniel McLeod of Sandymount.
1 Agnes Stuart born circa 06.06.1851.
2 William Stuart born circa 09.09.1854 at Ormond Quay. It is believed that William moved to New
Zealand when he was 19.
3 Helen Mary Stuart born circa 28.10.1858 at Ormond Quay married William Medcalf son of John
Medcalf of Athlone on 19.09.1881 at Ormond Quay Presbyterian Church, Dublin.
4 Henry Lauder Stuart born circa 19.02.1861 at Ormond Quay married Margaret Cree daughter of
James Cree on 29.07.1889 in the Parish Church, Drumragh, Tyrone. Henry died on 03.12.1918 at
Blackthorns aged 57 years and Margaret died on 16.11.1947 aged 88 years at Sydney Parade.
Both are buried at Deansgrange.

14.07.1897 daughter of Alexander Porter of Milverton Lodge on 14.09.1920 at Holmpatrick
Parish Church, Skerries. Isabella died of TB on 16.10.1924 aged 27 years at Milverton,
Skerries and William died on 18.12.1928 aged 38 years and buried at Deansgrange.
1 Margaret Elizabeth Stuart born 25.06.1921 baptised at St Brigid’s Stillorgan.
2 Isabella Stuart born 19.06.1923 baptised at St Brigid’s Stillorgan died of TB on
19.03.1924 aged 9 months at Blackthorns.
2 Esther Stuart born circa 1891 Tyrone, died unmarried at 30 Leinster Road W. on
20 Feb 1965 and is buried at Deansgrange.
3 Henry L Stuart born 09.09.1894 at Blackthorns married Elspeth Gillies Porter daughter of
Alexander Porter and Elspeth Gillies circa 01.08.1917 at All Saints in Manchester. They had
six children together before Elspeth died suddenly on 31.08.1939 at Blackthorns aged 46
years. Five of their children were baptised at St Brigid’s, Stillorgan and their youngest
daughter would also be married at St Brigid’s Stillorgan.
Henry then married Mabel Cora Collett daughter of William Edward Hartigan Collett of
Drumcondra and Mrs Jolly of Merville, Stillorgan at St Brigids’s Church, Stillorgan. The
family immigrated to New Zealand in 1959/60.
4 James Stuart born 1.08.1895 at Blackthorns and died 23.09.1899 at Blackthorns in a
farm accident and is buried at Deansgrange.
5 Margaret Mary Stuart born 17.12.1896 at Blackthorns and died 19.11.1942 aged 45.

6 James Stuart born 15 Sep 1865 and died 3 days later, buried at Deansgrange.
