Hon Col Edward Plantagenet Joseph Corbally Stourton son of Alfred Joseph Stourton, 24th Baron
Segrave and Mary Margaret Corbally born 24.03.1880 at Edward was educated at Ampleforth
College, Yorkshire. He fought in the Boer War 1900-1902 and the first World War and was
awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1917. Commander of the 1st Battalion, Kings Own
Yorkshire Light Infantry 1929 -1932 and attained the rank of colonel in 1933. He was a keen
hunting enthusiast and served on the committee of the Meath hunt,mainly acting as treasurer
from 1932. He was also a member of the Kildare Street Club. Edward married Beatrice Cicely
(Bey) Page daughter of Harold Ethelbert Page in 1934 and they had two children. Their main
residence was Corbalton Hall in Tara, Co Meath which was sold to Sir Richard Sykes in 1950 for
60K. They lived at Pranstown House from 1952 to 1955 when the moved to Arlonstown,
Dunsany, Co Meath.
