The Rynd Family of Dove House, Blackrock
James William Goodlette Rynd only son of late Lieut James William Rynd of the 21st Fusileers
and grandson of late James Rynd of Ryndville, Meath married Isabella Stephens eldest
daughter of John Stephens of Serpentine Avenue in 1845. Dr Francis Rynd the inventor of the
hollow needle syringe was his half-brother.

07.09.1869 at St Mary’s Church. He was called to the bar in 1874. James was a member
of Clontarf Tennis and Chess Club. He won the Dublin Chess Congress No 3
Tournament in 1865. James and Annie were divorced in 1887 at the Strand, Middlesex.
James of 2 Upper Mount Street died 17.03.1917.
1 Maria Annie Rynd eldest child born circa 1870 died 12.04.1876 aged 6 years at 38
Kildare Street.
2 James Goodlatte Rynd Jnr 2nd child born 04.09.1872 at 52 Serpentine Avenue and
died on 12.04.1876 aged 3½ years at 38 Kildare Street.
3 Kenneth Arley Rynd born 09.10.1873 at 52 Serpentine Avenue. Kenneth a Journalist
married Barbara Maxwell McBlaine circa October 1898. Kenneth of Iveagh House
died 31.03.1915 aged 45 years at Jervis Street Hospital.

4 Henry Murray Rynd born circa 1855 a Solicitor married Isabella Sophia Darling daughter of
Arthur James Darling a County Surveyor of Napersdome, Oldcastle, Meath on 20.09.1881
at Carysfort Church, Blackrock. Henry of 16 Lower Ormond Quay died on 10.07.1883 aged
28 years at 54 Serpentine Avenue.
5 Janie Adeline Rynd born circa 1863 of Dove House married Walker Alfred Murray of 27
Dame Street son of Henry Nauton Murray a Sugar Planter on 10.12.1881 at St Andrew’s
Church, Dublin.
1 Earle Fitzharding Murray born 01.04.1888 at 14 Upper Pembroke Street.
