NAME Rockville/Blackrock Garda Station
AREA LOCATION Off main street Blackrock beside Blackrock market originally known as
15½ Rock Street.
MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of Blackrock
but it is not annotated.
GENERAL Georgian five bay two storey town house with cut granite doorcase approached
by seven granite steps. In use as offices and accommodation for the DMP and later a Garda Station.
YEAR BUILT circa 1788
VALUATION In the 1911 census it is noted as having 14 rooms in occupation. In 1921 the
valuation was 21L
