Patrick Reid married Jacobina Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton and Jacobina Dunbar at Mauchline,
Ayrshire on 5 May 1775. Jacobina died at Clonliffe Parade, near Mountjoy Square, the residence of her
son J H Reid on 26 Nov 1838 and was interred at Mount Jerome.
1 Margaret Reid baptised on 12 Jun 1779 Ayr, Scotland.
2 Patrick Reid baptised 26 Jan 1786 at Ayr, Scotland. He was based at 7 Linen Hall from 1812 to
1838 trading as Dawson & Reid, Muslin Calico and linen factors. He married Helen Dawson,
daughter of Richard and Agnes Dawson. He was chairman of the Royal Bank of Ireland and
lived at Holmston, Kingstown from 1847. He died 17 Jan 1864 at Holmston and was interred at
Mount Jerome. He left 50K in personal estate. He owned property at Moira, Dublin which he
left jointly to his sons. Helen died at Holmston on 23 Jan 1871 aged 87 and was interred with
her husband.

Tod youngest daughter of Rev John Tod on 4 Jul 1854 at Mauchline, Ayrshire. They
lived at Glencarrig, Delgany and Patrick died 14 Oct 1886 at Glencarrig aged 74. He left
159k in personal estate and was interred at Mount Jerome. Jane Agnes died
3 Aug 1910 aged 92 at Glencarrig and left 36K in personal estate. She was interred at
Mount Jerome.
2 John Hamilton Reid born circa 1819 in Dublin was educated and Trinity married Agnes
Margaret Barbor, eldest daughter of Robert C Barbor, Esq, of Rathmore, Co Longford
on 15 Jun 1865 at Ardagh Church. John was a solicitor and lived at Holmston, Kingstown.
He died 11 Mar 1901 aged 81 at Holmston. He left 93K in personal estate. Agnes
Margaret died on 12 Dec 1925 aged 89 at Dun Laoghaire and was interred at Mount
Jerome.
1 Patrick Arthur Hamilton Reid only son born 1 Apr 1866 at Holmston was with
the 5th Battalion, Royal Irish Regiment. He married Ethel Letitia Bond on
17 Jul 1889 at St Stephen’s Church, Mount Street. Ethel was the daughter of
William Perry Bond of Ardglass, Co Westmeath and the granddaughter of Major
Alexander Perry of Westmeath and Longford. Patrick died 12 Mar 1924 at Bath
and was interred at Mount Jerome. Ethel died 13 Feb 1929 at Holmston and was
interred with her husband.

3 Agnes Dawson Reid born circa 1819 married Thomas Henry Lee, MD, MCSL an apothecary
and accoucheur of upper Dorset Street. Thomas died on 29 Jul 1856 at Haddington Road.
Agnes died 13 Feb 1882 at 80 Pembroke Road and was buried at Mount Jerome.
1 Richard Dawson Reid Lee born circa 1839 died a bachelor on 12 Mar 1885 at 80
Pembroke Road.
2 John H R Lee died June 1844 and was interred with his grandmother Jacobina.
3 William Lee third son born circa 1841 was a maltster. He married Eleanor Mary
Bole on 1 Mar 1883 at St Stephen's Church, Dublin. Eleanor was the daughter
of John Bole of Haddington Road. William died 1 Apr 1889 at Milford, Merrion and
was interred at Mount Jerome. Eleanor died 16 May 1918 and was interred with her
husband.
4 Patrick Reid Lee died December 1848 and was interred with his grandmother
Jacobina.
5 Thomas Henry born circa 1845 died 19 Jul 1849 at Charlemont Parade, Sandymount
from Whooping cough and was interred with his grandmother Jacobina.
6 Helen Reid Lee born circa 1859 in Dublin died a spinster on 22 Oct 1929 and was
buried at Mount Jerome.
7 Agnes Jane (Jeannie) Lee youngest daughter born circa 1868 in Dublin lived with
her sister Helen at Woongarra, Palmerston Road. Jeannie died 10 Jan 1918.
8 Thomas Henry (Harry) Lee youngest son was a solicitor. He died 23 Dec 1892 at
Small Acre, Bundaberg and was interred at Bundaberg Cemetery, Queensland on
Christmas day 1892 with Masonic honours,

31 Mar 1913 and was interred at Mount Jerome.
5 Helena Reid youngest daughter born circa 1827 married James Sweeny on 5 Oct 1858
at Monkstown Church. James was a solicitor of Montpelier Parade and the son of
James Sweeny. Helen died on 31 May 1895 at Balnootra, Alma Road and was interred
at Deansgrange. James died 24 Mar 1900 aged 93 and was interred with Helen.
3 John Hamilton Reid baptised at Ayr in Scotland on 1 Nov 1787. John and his older
brother Patrick had moved to Dublin by 1812. He married Agnes and they lived at
Clonliffe Parade from 1838 to 1849. They moved to Killarney Hill, Bray by 1855.
John died 22 Dec 1869 at Killarney Hill aged 83 and was interred at Mt Jerome. He
left 9K in personal Estate and upwards of 160 Oil Paintings, including some old masters were
put up for sale by his executors. Agnes died at Killarney Hill, Bray aged 90 on 29 Aug 1882
and was interred at Mount Jerome.

14 Winton Terrace, Rathgar on 9 Mar 1903 aged 84 and left 1K in personal
estate.

28 Dec 1847 at the Scots Church, Gloucester Street, Dublin. Agnes died a widow on
26 Nov 1901 at 1 Winton Road.

3 Helena Reid, third daughter born circa 1822 married James Patterson at the
Scot’s Church, Gloucester Street on 15 Nov 1849. James retired in 1884 having spent
33 years as minister of the Bray Presbyterian Church. He died on 11 Feb 1886 aged
67 at Belgrave Square, Rathmines and was interred at Mount Jerome. Helena died on
13 Sep 1906 aged 84 at Lisnoe, Orwell Park, the residence of her brother.
4 Margaret Reid fourth daughter born circa 1824 died 11 Nov 1837 at Weston
Park, the residence of Andrew Reid and was interred at Mount Jerome.
5 Johanna Elizabeth Reid died 29 Sep 1854.
6 John Hamilton Reid eldest son born circa 1828 was educated privately in Dublin
and then worked for the Royal Bank of Ireland. He married Margaret Munford Reid
daughter of James Reid of Belfast on 21 Sep 1855. In 1860 he became one of the
four partners and shareholders of Switzer & Co. They lived at Cedar Mount, Dundrum
from 1869 to 1875 and John was a member of the RDS. During their time in
Cedarmount, John contracted Anthrax. They moved to Lisnoe in Orwell Park and in
1892 he became chairman of Switzer & Co Ltd. Margaret died at the Standard Hotel
on Harcourt Street on 26 Dec 1897 and left 10K in personal estate.
John secondly married Jane (Janie) Donaldson at St John’s Knockbreda, Co Down on
6 Sep 1906. Janie was more than 40 years his junior. John died on 21 Jan 1914 at
Lisnoe, Orwell Park aged 86 and left 7K in personal estate. Jeanie died 14 Mar 1945 at
Lisnoe, 58 Orwell Park.
1 John Hamilton Reid only son born 20 Nov 1856 at Charleston Terrace
Rathmines married Haidee Maud Abbott Fry on 8 Feb 1893 at All Saints,
Kensington Park. John was a barrister and Haidee was the eldest daughter
of Col J W Fry and granddaughter of Col Henry Power. They were living at
Portsmouth in 1901. John died at Southsea on 27 Aug 1911 and Haidee
died on 16 Mar 1950 at the Isle of Wight.
2 Jane Montford Reid only daughter born circa 1863 married Rev Richard
Benson Redding on 8 Oct 1896 at St Mary's Church, Killarney. The reception
was held at the Muckross Hotel. Richard of 28 Harcourt Street was the eldest
son of George Redding of Ballyhaise, Cavan. In 1901 Richard was curate of
Castleknock and the family were living at Lucan. Richard died at Malabar, India
on 9 Jun 1904.
7 Andrew Reid born circa 1831 married Katherine Dods on 27 Sep 1865 at Ormond
Quay Church, Dublin. Katherine was the Widow of Charles Key Dods and the daughter
of Robert Knox of Kelvin Grove, Glasgow. Andrew, a civil engineer and late of Rathgar
died aged 39 on 22 Aug 1868 at Killarney Hill.
8 Patrick Richard Reid youngest son born circa 1834 in Co Kildare. He was an MD of
Booterstown. He married Wilhelmina Campbell Knox on 29 Oct 1861 at Glasgow.
Wilhelmina was the youngest daughter of Robert Knox of Glasgow. They had four
children of whom three had survived to 1911. Wilhelmina died at Montpelier Parade
on 21 Feb 1912. Patrick died a widower on 13 Sep 1921 at Montpelier Parade.
1 Wilhelmina Agnes (Mina) eldest daughter born circa 1863 married Samuel P
Boyd at the Presbyterian Church Kingstown on 24 Aug 1887. Samuel was the
eldest son of Samuel Boyd, JP of Shanganagh Park. Mina died 5 Mar 1906 at
Leeson Street.

3 Hamilton Dawson Reid born 16 Jul 1870 at Royal Marine Road, Kingstown married
Annie Myler, daughter of Captain George Meyler of Laurel Lodge, Dundrum on
3 Dec 1896 at St Peter’s Church, Dublin. Hamilton was a cycle agent.
