William Reid son of John Reid and Anne Connor was born at Co Wicklow circa 1853. William, a labourer
married Elizabeth Hall at Ashford Church on 7 Jan 1870. William was a labourer. Elizabeth died aged 28
at Glenealy on 31 Jan 1872.
1 Edward Reid born 7 Jan 1870 at Ballydowling, Co Wicklow, a gardener living with his father at
Stillorgan in 1911.
William secondly married Margaret Finn at Kilbride Church, Barndarrig, Co Wicklow on 28 May 1873.
William was working as a servant and living at Ballydowling, and Margaret, daughter of James Finn and
Rose Beakey was living with her father at Ballygannon, Rathdrum at the time of their marriage. In 1894
William was a caretaker at Leopardstown and by 1901 William was in Stillorgan living at Stillorgan Grove
listed as a caretaker. By 1911 he is listed as the caretaker of Stillorgan Golf Links. Margaret died
21 Apr 1909 and William died 29 Jul 1913 at Stillorgan.
2 John Reid born circa 1877 in Co Wicklow was a post man in 1901. John was the informant for his
mother and father’s death.
3 William Reid born 9 Nov 1880 at Ballinagrew, Dunganstown, Co Wicklow. He was working as a
coachman st Stillorgan Park and married Bridget Delaney at the Church of the Three Patrons,
Rathgar on 11 Nov 1906. Bridget was the daughter of Thomas Delaney, and a servant living at
13 Kenilworth Square. Witnesses: John Reid & Mary Delaney. William was working as a domestic
servant (groom) in 1911. William a gardener died 13 Jun 1935 at Stillorgan and was buried at
Deansgrange. Bridget died at 5 Moore’s Cottages, Stillorgan on 20 Apr 1958 and was buried with
her husband.
1 William Reid born 7 Mar 1908 at Stillorgan was a tailor. He died 14 Feb 1925 and was
buried at Deansgrange.
2 Thomas Joseph Reid 5 Sep 1909 at Stillorgan. Living at Kilgarron, Enniskerry in 1958.
3 Joseph Reid born 21 Mar 1911 at Stillorgan.
4 Denis Reid born 15 Jan 1913 at Stillorgan was living at 5 Moore’s Cottages, Stillorgan
in 1960.
5 Margaret Mary Reid born 6 Dec 1914 at Stillorgan was a shop assistant and died a
spinster on 19 Jun 1960 at 5 Moore’s Cottages, Dublin Road. Her brother Denis the
informant. She was buried at Deansgrange with her parents.

7 Denis Reid born 7 May 1891 in Co Dublin worked as a caddymaster at the golf links. He joined
Guinness’s in 1919 and worked as a tariff labourer in the cooperage department. He married
Mary Daly 19 Jan 1921 at Blackrock RC Church. Mary was the daughter of Patrick Daly, a tailor
and was living at Stillorgan Park at the time of her marriage. Denis was the Hon Sec of the St
Laurence Committee of Social Assistance and arranged the licence for dances held in the parish
hall from 1942 to 1950. They lived in the gatelodge of Kilmacud House on the Kilmacud Road
until it was demolished in 1960. Denis died 9 Aug 1970 at St Laurence’s Church late of 34
Patrician Villas and was buried at Deansgrange. Mary died in 1981 and was buried with her
husband.
