Albert Rave born circa 1889 in France son of Joseph Clement Rave, a carpenter and his wife
Julianna Maria Chevallier. Albert was head gardener at Belgrove Nurseries and married Mary
Cullen on 5 Sep 1920 at the Dublin Registrar’s Office. Mary was the daughter of James Cullen,
a labourer and was living at Tivoli, Castle Avenue, Clontarf. They lived at Rosemount,
Booterstown from 1923 to 1926 and at Beverston from 1947 to 1950. He was a market
gardener and rented land at Landscape, Dundrum from Frank Ashby of Landscape Manor in
1932. He died 18 Aug 1965 at St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park late of 21 St Laurence’s Park,
Stillorgan. Mary died at St Kevin’s Hospital, Camden Street, late of 145 Mulvey Park,
Dundrum.
1 Joseph Rave born 18 Oct 1920 at the Rotunda Hospital, father resident at Belgrove,
Stillorgan Road. He married Julia Donovan at Portarlington Church, Co Offaly on
11 Nov 1942. Joseph was a labourer living at Barrowbank. Julia was the daughter of
Michael O’Donovan, a labourer. He died at the Meath Hospital late of Le Fanu Road,
Ballyfermot in 1974.
2 Alexander Rave born 9 Feb 1922 at the Rotunda Hospital, father resident at Mountain
View, Dundrum. Alex married and they lived at in Stillorgan and later at Ballinteer.
3 George (John) Rave born 27 Oct 1923 at the Rotunda Hospital, father resident at
Booterstown. He was a chauffeur living at Beaverston when he married Margaret
Mary (Pearl) Healy on 6 Sep 1950 at Holy Cross Church, Dundrum. Margaret was a
domestic servant living at Ballinteer Gardens and the daughter of John C Healy, a
chauffeur. George died at 21 St Lawrence's Park Stillorgan on 7 Feb 1975 and is
buried at Deansgrange.
4 Mary Blanche (Blanche) Rave born 12 March 1925 at the Rotunda, father resident at
Rosemount, Booterstown. She was living at Beverston Lodge and married Desmond
O’Rourke at St Teresa’s Church, Mount Merrion on 8 Sep 1947. Desmond was head
gardener and resident at Woodley Park, upper Kilmacud Road and was the son of
James O’Rourke, a gardener.
5 Hubert Rave born circa 1926 was a gardener and died aged 23 at Dr Steeven’s Hospital
late of Beverston, Mount Anville Road on 5 Oct 1950.
