Charles Percy Putland of Butler’s Grove, Co Kilkenny married Sarah Elliot, second daughter of
Thomas and Mary Elliot of, Racroge Co Carlow at Stapleton Church on 25 Oct 1820. Their
house at 15 Fitzwilliam Square West was stripped of its lead in 1826. Charles died at Macken’s
Hotel, 12 Dawson Street late of Janeville, Carlow and Littleton, Stillorgan on 30 May 1827.
Sarah secondly married William Carey, Captain and adjutant of the Carlow Militia in October
1828 at Booterstown. She had a son in 1834 and died at Carlow in September 1841.
