The O'Reilly Family of Temora, Booterstown
Charles Reginald Joseph O’Reilly youngest and 5th son of Joseph Richard O’Reilly of Sans Souci,
Blackrock educated at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berks, received his medical degrees with
distinction at Tricity College Dublin. In 1914 he was appointed House Surgeon to Sir Patrick Dun’s
Hospital in Dublin. At the outbreak of war he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and served in
France and Italy. He was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry and devotion to duty near Hulloch
in 1915.
Charles married Mary Dorothy Martin eldest daughter of Frank Vincent Martin of Beaufield and
Craigmore in 1922 at the Roman Catholic Church in Booterstown. The family moved from St Kilda,
Avoca Avenue, Blackrock to Temora, Booterstown in April 1936. In 1944 Charles purchased
Roseboro in Naas and died there on 15.07.1952.

1 Francis Joseph O’Reilly only son, married Teresa Williams elder daughter of Jack Williams
of Auburn Tullamore of the Tullamore Distilling family in 1950 at the Church of
the Assumption, Tullamore. They had 10 children.
