1 Robert Mostyn of the 3rd West India Regt, illegitimate son of Folliot. Robert lived with the family
at Rutland Square. Captain Mostyn died at Nassau in the Bahama Islands on 23 Jul 1853.
Folliott Thornton Mostyn of 34 Dominick Street married widow Elizabeth, relict of John Armstrong of
Mountjoy Square and the Island of Grenada on 6 Oct 1831 at St Mary’s Church. Folliott was a solicitor and
Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of Charles Meares, solicitor of 33 Upper Dorset Street. They were living
at Mary Villa, Cross Avenue in 1834 and by 1835 were at Hermitage, Cross Avenue which remained the
country home until 1849. Folliott held the lease of over 1500 acres in Sligo. He died on 5 May 1850 at
Rutland Square East.
2 Jane Constance Mostyn born at Old Dominick Street was baptised 23 Dec 1833 at St Mary’s., Dublin
eldest daughter married William Pole Collingwood on 10 Aug 1854 at St George’s Church. William
was a captain in the 21st Fusiliers and was based at Richmond Barracks. He was the second son of
Henry J W Collingwood of Lisburn Tower and Cornwall House, Northumberland.
3 Eliza Mostyn born at Hermitage in June 1835 baptised at St Marys on 3 Sep 1835 married Thomas J
Atkinson, 31st Regiment on 28 Apr 1858 at St George’s Church. Thomas was a staff surgeon at the
Aldershot Camp and the son of Robert Atkinson, surgeon. Thomas died at Rutland Square on
25 Nov 1860. Eliza secondly married John Clarke, MD, 10th Regiment on 30 Apr 1863 at Bray Parish
Church. John was the son of John Clarke.
4 Margaretta Mostyn born at 34 Dominick Street baptised 13 July 1837 at St Mary’s, Dublin.
5 Marion Henrietta Mostyn born at 34 Rutland Street baptised 1 Aug 1838 at St George’s Dublin.
6 Henrietta Mostyn born circa 1840 at 34 Old Dominick Street baptised 26 March 1840 at St George’s,
Dublin married George A G Adamson of Auburn House, Co Westmeath on 12 Dec 1861 at St George’s
Church. George was the widowed son of Richard Adamson.
7 Georgina Mostyn born 7 Nov 1842 at Rutland Square baptised at St George’s died at Rockbrook,
Dundrum from malignant Scarlatina fever on 5 Jun 1850.
8 Emma Isabella Mostyn, youngest daughter born circa 1844 married Charles Watkins 2 May 1866 at St
George’s Church. Charles was a captain with the 24th Regiment and the son of Thomas Watkins.
Eliza secondly married John Collum of Bellevue, Fermanagh and Fitzwilliam Square at St James’ Church, James’
Square, Piccadilly, Westminster on 7 Sep 1854. John was the son of Archibald Collum, solicitor and his wife
Margaret Elizabeth Bell. John was a widower and had a number of children. John died at Bellevue Fermanagh
on 12 Dec 1875 aged 77. Elizabeth died 15 Aug 1876 at 9 Rutland Square and left £1500 in personal estate.
