Constantine George Mortimer born circa 1885 in London son of John William Mortimer,
an actor/comedian (later a vocalist) and his wife Irma, a vocalist from Vienna of
Brixton, London. He was working for the Hall-Walker family in London in 1906 but lost
his job after being convicted of speeding. By 1907 he was a chauffeur/mechanic to
Richard Croker of Glencairn. He married Mary Josephine (Marion) Halpin of Ludford
Park*, daughter of William Halpin who was land steward for the Elliott's at Ludford Park,
on 20.11.1907 at Sandyford. Witnesses:- Joseph Byrne and Frances Mary O’Reilly.
Constantine was convicted for speeding in 1908 at Foxrock and had his licence endorsed.
Marion emigrated to America with her two children in 1910. Her cousin William Halpin
saw them off at Queenstown and she was to be met by her husband on arrival in New
York.
