Liberalism and Home Rule’ he was elected to represent the North
Dock ward in November 1871.

Spouse 2. Patrick Malone a fortune teller, crystal gazer and a private in
the British Army. Described as being ‘without means’. Married 18
February 1911 at Westland Row church. The couple lived at Qui-Si-
Sana until their acrimonious divorce, the details of which received
substantial newspaper coverage in 1919. Citing intolerable cruelty and
incurable drunkenness Malone was accused of assaulting his wife,
snatching his young child and of running naked on the streets of
Blackrock. Mrs Malone was forced to take refuge in a Wicklow
convent where her children Molly, Cora and Lola also resided. Weekly
