Edward Ellis, Adjutant of the Prince of Wales’s Light Dragoons died 01.01.1820 late of Rocklands.
1 Charlotte Ellis daughter of Edward Ellis married John Mayne on 18.08.1800 in the Parish
of Tawney. John born circa 1769 and was a Clerk of the Peace for County Cavan and
was living at Bishop Street at the time of his marriage. John died on 07.02.1835 aged
66 years at French Street.
1 Edward Ellis Mayne born circa 1802 educated at Trinity College BA 1824, married
Anne Jane Wilson MacDonald daughter of Charles Wilson of Co Cavan and widow of
Archibald MacDonald on 22.08.1853 at St George’s Parish Church, Edinburgh. Anne
had a daughter Emily by her marriage to Archibald. Emily, daughter of Anne and step-
daughter to Edward Ellis Mayne married William E Perrin on 7 Jun 1867 at St
Kevins's Church.
Edward was a Clerk of the Peace for County Cavan, Anne Jane late of Talbot Terrace,
Bayswater, London died 06.01.1868 aged 49 years at Rocklands and Edward died
16.01.1885 aged 82 years at Rocklands and is buried at Mount Jerome. There is a
plaque in their memory at St Brigid's Church.
2 Mary Anne Ellis married William Boulger on 1 Jan 1799 at the parish of St Anne, Dublin and they
lived at Rocklands for a period.
1 Edward Ellis Bolger, second son married Anna Maria FitzThomas, third daughter of
Francis Whitfield on 25 Jun 1839 at St John's Church, Launceston Tasmania.
3 Lieutenant Theophilus T Ellis born circa 1782 was with the 14th Light Dragoons.
