James Masson born circa 1833 married Susan Glashan at Old Machar, Aberdeen in Scotland on the
18 Nov 1856. James was a gardener and they moved to Ireland circa 1863. James was a gardener,
he worked at Kilcroney House and St Helen's, Booterstown. They were living at 19 Mount Merrion
Avenue in 1901 and their daughter Mary and her family were living with them. James died
6 Apr 1907 at the RLA late of St Helen’s, Booterstown and was buried at Deansgrange. Susan moved to
Drumgoff on Glenart Avenue and lived with her daughter Mary. She died 11 May 1921 at Kennilworth
Square and was buried with her husband.
1 John Masson, eldest son went to the US and died 28 Feb 1911 at Upper Soda Springs,
California.
2 Catherine King Masson born circa 1862 in Scotland was residing at Norelands, Kilkenny
when she married William Henry Woodworth at the Presbyterian Church, Kilkenny on
5 Jul 1886. William was an accountant resident in Booterstown and the son of Joseph
H Woodworth an Accountant/Auditor. They were living in Kennilworth square in 1921.
1 Gerald Woodworth born 10 Jun 1887 at Rugby Road, Rathmines was a engineer
and married Rosa Frederika Moore at St Matthews Church, Dublin on 9 Jan 1911.
Rosa was residing at 11 Herbert Road Sandymount and was the daughter of
William Moore, an engineer. In 1911 they had five children of whom four had
survived. Gerald died at Portobello House on 9 Oct 1936, late of Palmerston Park.
Catherine died 3 Jan 1937 at 63 Kenilworth Square.
1 Gerard Dudley Woodworth born 7 May 1912 at Cherryfield Avenue,
Rathmines was an engineer and company secretary. He married Phylllis
Ethel Quinn at Greystones Church on 2 Apr 1838. Phyllis was residing at
Bayswater, Greystones and was the daughter of Mark Walter Quinn, a
librarian.

3 Basil Woodworth died an infant on16 Nov 1921 at Terenure and was buried
with his maternal great grandparents at Deansgrange.

and married Frances Dunbar at Taney Parish Church on 3 March 1890. Frances was the
second daughter of George Dunbar, a farmer of Mountain View, Churchtown. Frances
died aged 25 and was buried at Taney on 10 Oct 1893.
1 Frances Maud Mary Masson born of Ballycurry Ashford, Co Wicklow on 5 Oct 1893
was baptised at Taney on 1 Nov 1893. She was living at Annadale in Churchtown
and married Ernest Pearce on 28 June 1920 at Taney Church. Ernest was residing at
Birmingham and was the son of Henry Pearce a tradesman.
2 William J Masson born circa 1893 in County Wicklow was a house agent/commercial
clerk living with his father in 1911.
Charles secondly married Rosina Ermini on 12 Jan 1899 at Kingstown Church. Rosina was the
daughter of Torqueto Ermini, a shoemaker from Florence, Italy and was living at Longford
Lodge, Kingstown at the time of her marriage. Charles was living at 19 Mount Merrion Avenue
at the time of his marriage. Charles was a nursery man by 1906 and lived at 7 Chapel Avenue,
Irishtown and a nursery at 10 Claremount Road, Sandymount. He advertised as also restoring
and creating tennis and croquet lawns. Charles died 1 Apr 1927 at Sandymount Green and
was buried at Deansgrange. Rosina died 12 Apr 1942 at 10 Sandymount Green and was buried
with her husband.
3 Charles Enrico Masson born 21 Oct 1899 took over the Sandymount Nursery
on the death of his father and frequently gave talks on the cultivation of
plants. He married Irene Bannister on 29 Aug 1934 at St Paul’s in Dublin City.
Irene was the daughter of George Bannister, a manager. Rene died in 27 Mar 1942
aged 29 and was buried at Mount Jerome with her parents.

5 Emily Masson born 29 Nov 1904 at the Coombe Hospital died 28 Aug 1921 at
10 Sandymount Green and was buried with her paternal grandparents.

4 Susan Masson married Edward Dowse 8 July 1903 at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church,
Booterstown. Edward was a clerk residing at Mount Pleasant Avenue Rathmines and the
son of William Dowse, a builder.

5 Mary Connan Masson born 7 Oct 1866 at Kilcroney gatelodge, Co Wicklow married William
Moffatt, son of William Moffatt, a bootmaker on 10 May 1888 at the Presbyterian Church,
Adelaide Road. They lived at 19 Mount Merrion Avenue with Mary's parents before moving
to Drumagoff, Glenart Avenue, Stillorgan Park. William was a commercial traveller for the
Druggists - Hugh Moore & Alexanders Ltd and was appointed a director in 1924. Mary died
on 6 Aug 1918 at Drumgoff and was buried at Deansgrange. William died 8 Feb 1953 aged
94 and was buried with his wife.
1 Susan Martha Moffatt born 8 Jul 1889 at Springville, Cross Avenue, Booterstown,
was a talented pianist and took part in the yearly Feis Ceoils. She ran a boarding
house at Drumgoff after the death of her father and died a spinster on 2 Feb 1977.
She was buried with her parents at Deansgrange.
2 William James Moffatt born 25 Jan 1895 was educated at Avoca School and Trinity
College Dublin and graduated with a degree in engineering. He enlisted and was
commissioned in 1915 to the Royal Engineers. He was wounded in July 1916 and
treated at the 4th Northern General Hospital in Lincoln. After the war he worked
as a railway engineer in Iraq. He returned to Ireland and married Gladys Kinnear
at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Mount Merrion Avenue on 21 Oct 1930.
Gladys was the daughter of James A Kinnear and was residing at Glenageary at the
time of her marriage. The couple lived in London after their marriage.
