Michael Marlborough born circa 1871 son of Francis Malboro, a farmer and his wife Honor Nelly.
Michael married Mary Anne Kennedy, a widow on 6 Jun 1898 at The RC Chapel of Little Bray, Co
Wicklow. Mary Anne was a servant and the widow of James Kennedy. She was living at Abbey Ville,
Little Bray and was the daughter of Thomas Courtney, a farmer. Michael was a gardener and in 1901
the family was living in a house on the grounds of Glenalbyn which was leased by Robert Travers. In
1911 they were living in in a house owned by Robert Travers of Timoleague, Co Cork. They were back
in Dublin by 1937. Most of their children emigrated to America during their lifetime. Michael died
5 Jul 1948 at 23 Kincora Park, Clontarf and was buried at Deansgrange. Mary died 8 May 1952 at
Kincora Park, Clontarf and was buried at Deansgrange.
1 Frank V Marlborough born 9 Mar 1899 at Stillorgan, Co Dublin died at Glen Albyn 8 Oct 1903
and was buried at Deansgrange.
2 Thomas Leo Marlborough born 10 Jul 1901 at Stillorgan, Co Dublin was with the Irish Army in
1922. He was a gardener and emigrated to Suffolk, Massachusetts in 1927 where he stayed
with his uncle and aunt; Patrick and Delia Marlborough. He became a papermaker and joined
the American forces in 1942. He married Marie J Lapalme and died in 1972.
3 Nora Bridget Marlborough born 30 July 1904 at Erinagh, Bridgetown, Co Clare married Patrick
Keogh on 1 Sep 1941 at Dublin. She was the informant at both her parent’s death with an
address of 11 Oulton Park, Clontarf. By 1954 she was in American and had applied for
naturalisation which she attained in 1959. Nora died Aug 1987.
4 Michael Joseph Marlborough born 20 December 1906 at Timoleague, Co Cork. Michael married
Katherine Sweny at Christ the King Church in Cabra on 18 Jan 1943. Michael was a lorry driver
and Kathleen was the daughter of Charles Sweny, British army.
5 Catherine Mary (Kathleen) Malborough 12 Aug 1908 at Timoleague, Co Cork travelled to Boston
in 1954 and was naturalised on 1 May 1961 at Massachusetts. She returned to Ireland and lived
at Kincora Park in Clontarf. She was buried at Deansgrange with her parents.
6 Patrick Fergus Marlborough born 12 Jan 1911 at Timoleague, Co Cork was a motor driver and
lived at Carleton Road, Marino. He married Mary McDermot, a waitress and daughter of Patrick
McDermot, a green keeper on 31 Jan 1937 at the Church of St Agnes, Drimnagh. He worked for
Messrs John Dooly and Sons as a lorry driver. Later they lived in Drimnagh.
7 Una Marlborough born 1 Jul 1913 at Timoleague, Co Cork travelled to Boston in 1954, she was
employed as a cost accountant and naturalised in 1959.
8 Richard Francis Marlborough born 20 Sep 1917, Co Cork was an electrical engineer and lived in
Clontarf. He married Elizabeth Dargan in 1948 and emigrated with his wife the same year to
Montreal. By 1951 the family were in Massachusetts.
