Francis Low born circa 1832 son of Francis Low and Rebecca Jane Bickerstaff of Merrion Castle.
He was a banker with the firm Boyle, Low, Murray & Co of College Green and married Annie
Elizabeth Curry daughter of John Curry in 1860. They lived at Avonmore from 1875 to 1885.
Francis won 1st prize for 12 varieties on a bunch of 24 blooms in November 1881 with Mr
Thomas Goff, his gardener at the Royal Horticultural Show. Francis died at Avonmore in 1883
and Annie died at Kilgobbin in 1910.

William MacDonald Matthews Assoc M Inst C.E. of Ramsgate eldest son of H W
Matthews of Dawson Place on 01.11.1887 at St Thomas’s, Southborough, Kent. William
had previously been married to Susan Annie Smith Burstall in 1877. Susan died in 1885.

in St Brigid’s Church, Stillorgan. Walter a student was staying with his sister Frances Matthews
in 1901 in Kent. Rev Walter BA Christ Church, Cambridge and Ridley Hall 1902. Walter married
Ellen Mary Cobham younger daughter of late John Cobham of Waterloo on 01.07.1908 at the
Parish Church Crowborough.
1 Rev Harold Percival Low born circa 1909 in Crowborough died on 24.11.1936 aged 27
years following a seaplane crash in Nairobi.
