James Lawler born circa 1864 at Bray Co Wicklow son of James Lawler, a carpenter. He married
Margaret Mary Keenan of Glen of the Downs, and daughter of James Keenan, a spirit merchant at
Enniskerry RC Church on 18 Jul 1892. James was a carpenter and they lived in Blackrock before
moving to Stillorgan Village circa 1900. In 1911 James was still working as a carpenter at they were
living in Hanbury Lane. They had seven children of whom five survived in 1911.
1 Peter Lawler born 12 Feb 1899 died at Stillorgan on 6 Apr 1900 and was buried at
Deansgrange.
2 James Joseph Lawler born 3 Jun 1893 at 60 Georges Avenue, Blackrock working as a general
labourer in 1911 and living at 6 Coady’s Cottages in 1920.
3 John Lawler born 24 Aug 1894 at 38 Georges Avenue, Blackrock working as a general
labourer in 1911.
4 Margaret Lawler born 7 Jan 1901 at Stillorgan.
5 Eva (Eveleen) Lawlor born 31 Oct 1904 at St Michael’s Terrace, South Dublin worked as a
factory girl and died of TB at 6 Coady’s Cottages, North Strand on 11 Aug 1920.
6 Charles Lawler born 1 Feb 1909 at Newmarkets, South Dublin.
