George Dance Lawder born circa 1805 was son of John Lawder, solicitor. They lived at
31 Kildare Street. He married Lydia Judith Castle, daughter of Blacker Castle an officer
of the Court of Exchequer and his wife Jane of 53 Camden Street Lower. They were
married on 29 Apr 1885 at Holy Trinity, Rathmines. Lydia died 1855 and George died
9 Jun 1872 and the couple were buried at Mount Jerome.
1 George Christopher Lawder, only child born 2 Mar 1858 at 51 Rathmines Road
married Rosanna Louisa Westenra Fox, daughter of William Beere Fox and Mary
Anne Read. Roseanna was born at Blacklion House in Greystones before moving
to the Lake House in Roundwood. They lived at Dunstaffnage from 1888 to 1904
before moving to Mount Temple in Temple Hill. George died 30 Jun 1913 and
Rosanna died 20 Jan 1952 and both were buried at Mount Jerome.
1 George William Dance Lawder born 17 Jan 1886 at 175 Rathgar Road. He was
educated at St. Columba's College, Rathfarnham, and graduated BA, Trinity.
He enlisted in the Canadian Army at Edmonton, Albeta, Canada, on 4 Jan 1915.
He was killed in action on 27 Sep 1918. He was buried and commemorated at
Ontario Cemetery, Sains-les-Marquion, and Pas de Calais, France.
2 John Castles Lawder born 21 Jun 1887 at 175 Rathgar Road died 28 Mar 1893
and was buried at Mount Jerome with his grandparents.
3 William Hume Lawder born 24 Aug 1888 at Stillorgan was baptised at St Brigid’s
Stillorgan at Stillorgan died 6 Jan 1889 at Stillorgan and was buried at Mount
Jerome with his grandparents.
4 Trevor Abbott Lawder born 8 Feb 1890 was born at Dunstaffnage, Stillorgan
and baptised at St Brigid’s, Stillorgan. He took a medical degree and joined the
Royal Army Medical Corps and attained the rank of major. He married Muriel
P Gunning at Kensington in 1915. They moved to Buxton, Derbyshire. Trevor
died at Bromley in Kent in 1977.
1 Vivienne Nancy Lawder born circa 1918 married Brian James Samuel
Collins, eldest son of John Crawford Collins of Forest Hill London on
7 Oct 1939 at St Mary Abbotts, London.
