Richard Wellington Kinneen born circa 1853 in Galway, son of James Kinneen, farmer of Moyvilla and
Maria Pilkington married Louisa Darcy 7 Feb 1887 at St Nicholas’ Church, Galway. Richard was a
commercial agent living at Eyre Square Galway and Louisa was the daughter of Patrick Darcy a retired
RIC constable. Richard died at 5 Eyre Square on 3 Nov 1929 aged 77. Louisa died at Seamount House,
Galway on 12 Apr 1936 late of Moyvilla.

2 Louisa Margaret Mary Kinneen born 4 Jun 1890 at Eyre Square died 4 Oct 1890.
3 James Francis Kinneen born 21 Sep 1891 at Eyre Square was an engineering student at UCG in
1911. He enlisted and died 2 Jun 1919 at Naini Tal, Bengal.
4 Richard Benedict Kinneen born 28 Jul 1893 at Eyre Square enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1917. He
was a witness at his brother’s wedding in 1927.
5 William Patrick Kinneen born 9 Apr 1895 at Eyre Square Galway joined the 11th Battalion Royal
Dublin Fusiliers in 1919. He married Christiana Kelly, daughter of Oscar and Martham Tyrie of
Union Road, London on 22 September 1922 at the Pro Cathedral. William travelled alone to
Detroit in1926 where he was involved in real estate. The whole family went to Detroit in July 1926.
Christiana was living at Roebuck with her children by 1946. In September 1948 a fire broke out in
the house, Christina heard the crackle of the flames and alerted her three children and the left
in their night attire. She managed to phone for help before they left. The fire brigade rescued
most of the downstairs furtniture but the top storey and roof were destroyed in the blaze.
In 1948/9 William was in Johannesburg, SA, where he had extensive business interests. William
and Christiana were the parents of Mary Patricia (Patricia) Ryan, ballet dancer with the Russian
Ballet and later a choreographer and director of the National Ballet School in Parnell Square,
Dublin. Christiana died 5 Oct 1956 at Merrion Road, Dublin.

8 Francis Gerard (Gerard) Kinneen born 3 Oct 1899 at Eyre Square married Ellen Mary Kavanagh at
Kilkenny Cathedral on 19 Jan 1927. Ellen was living at Parliament Street Kilkenny and was the
daughter of John Kavanagh, a farmer. Gerard was working as a commission agent.
9 Josephine Mary Kinneen born 19 Mar 1902 at Eyre Square.
10 Edward Ignatius Kinneen born 20 Sep 1904 at Eyre Square was an accountant and moved to South
Africa in 1936.
