1 John Inglis born circa 1838. He was a land steward and married Mary Annie
Barrett on 19 May 1861 at St Nicholas’ Church, Dublin. John was the son of Peter
and Alice Inglis. Mary was the daughter of Henry and Margaret Barrett. John
died at Golden Grove, Roscrea 26 Sep 1870 from Typhus, his wife the informant.
1 Alice Inglis a shopkeeper, daughter of John Inglis a steward married Henry
Austin O’Neill at the Sacred Heart Church, Aughrim on 17 Aug 1896. Henry
was a plumber and the son of William O’Neill, a car proprietor.
1 Eileen Mary O’Neill born 8 Nov 1898 at Spencer Street, Dublin.
2 Alice Mary O’Neill born 22 Feb 1901 at Spencer Street, Dublin.
2 Peter Inglis born 14 Jun 1865 at Hospital, Limerick. He worked as a male
nurse and later as a porter in the Blessington workhouse in 1885. He had
left the country by 1893 and was struck off from the voters register for
Rathdrum division.
3 Margaret Inglis born 18 Jun 1867 at Harbourstown, Drogheda died on
3 Apr 1871 at Golden Grove, Roscrea.
4 Maria Margaret (Minnie) Inglis daughter of John born Dublin circa 1871,
post mistress of Aughrim. She was the agent for ‘The Wicklow Newsletter’
based at the post office in Aughrim from 1893 to 1917. She married
Michael Boland Phelan on 30 Oct 1898 at the Sacred Heart Church,
Aughrim. Michael was a shopkeeper of Aughrim and the son of James
Phelan, a shopkeeper. Michael died 21 Apr 1918 aged 59 at Aughrim and
was buried at Mecreddin. His brother Patrick the informant. Maria was
the registrar of BMD’s for Aughrim and registered her own husband’s death.
The spirit and beer licence for the shop was transferred to her after
Michael’s death.

5 Mary Anna Rosalina (Marion) Inglish born 3 Jul 1869 in Roscrea, a school
teacher married Philip O’Connor on 22 Apr 1900 at the Sacred Heart Church,
Aughrim. Philip was a steam fitter of Raymond Street, Dublin. They had five
children of whom four survived in 1911.

2 Joseph Franics O’Connor born 4 Mar 1907 at Selskar Avenue, Ranelagh.

Rathmines.
2 Andrew Inglis born circa 1839 in Co Wicklow baptised Hacketstown 15 Feb 1839.
He was a retired land steward in Aughrim in 1901. He lived with his niece Miss
Inglis at Aughrim. He died a bachelor on 11 Apr 1902 at Aughrim.
3 Annie Inglis died 30 Aug 1869 aged 24 at Ballykilmurray, Kiltegan.
4 Thomas Inglis baptised Hacketstown 8 Dec 1845.
5 Peter Inglis born circa 1849 in Co Wicklow son of Peter Inglis, a land steward.
He was a gardener living at Baltinglass and married Mary Kenny on 26 Nov 1886
on 26 Nov 1886, St Joseph’s, Baltinglass. Mary was a matron of a fever hospital
and resident at Baltinglass. Mary was the daughter of John Kenny, a farmer and
she was at least 20 years his senior. Peter was the gardener at Roebuck House
from 1901 to 1903 working for Henry J Gill. Peter died 8 Nov 1907 at Palace, New
Ross aged 62 and Mary a pensioned nurse died 27 Sep 1909 at Woodfield,
Kiltegan. Given Mary’s age, it is unlikely they had children.
