Henry Hutton born circa 1792 son of Maxwell Hutton, a grocer and wine importer of James'
Street and his wife Nessy Rosavo. Henry was a merchant with interests in Barbados. He
married Letitia Hutton on 23 Sep 1823. Letitia was the only daughter of John Hutton of
Kilmore, Co Dublin. His father died when he was about five and his mother died on
19 Jun 1842 late of James' Street.
1 Henry Dix Hutton born 3 Oct 1824 was a barrister of 10 Mountjoy Square. He married
Adele Sborgi of Florence in London on 23 Oct 1871. He died 10 Dec 1907 at Erin Lodge,
Donnaghadee.
2 Susan Bruce Hutton born circa 1826 died unmarried on 8 Dec 1904 at Kenilworth,
London.
Henry secondly married Eliza Swanwick youngest daughter of Edward Swanwick at the
Unitarian Chapel, Nottingham on 20.06.1854. They lived at Edenfield from 1856. Henry
was a director of the Great Southern & Western Railway and the Dublin & Drogheda Railway.
He died at Edenfield on 02.04.1878 and left 35K in personal estate. Elizabeth died aged 86
on 16.01.1905 at Villino Ferrari, Via Plemonte, Rome, the residence of her son in law. She left
16k in personal estate.
3 Mary Hutton eldest child born 09.04.1855 at Eccles Street married William Wilkins
on 30.06.1883 at the British Legatron, Berne. The family moved from Harcourt Street
to Rostrevor Tce in Rathgar. William was born in Zante in the Ionian Islands, he
graduated MA from TCD and was the first headmaster of The High School in Rathgar
serving from from 1879-1908. Mary died 04.05.1940. A portrait of the late William
Wilkins was unveiled at the school in 1954.
1 Maurice Arthur Charles Wilkins born 18.09.1895 at 40 Harcourt Street was the
headmaster of Bangor Grammar school.
2 Edgar Henry Wilkins born 05.09.1887 at 40 Harcourt Street.
3 Beatrice Una Wilkins born 28.12.1890 at 40 Harcourt Street.
4 Lucy Mab Wilkins born circa 1895 died at Portobello House on 21.05.1903.
4 Maria Hutton born circa 1856 died unmarried in 1940.
5 Eliza Hutton born circa 1856, a spinster in 1905.
6 Emily Hutton born 11.09.1862 Dublin married Giuseppe Ferrari Commendatore on
17.10.1900 at Rieti, Lazio, Italy.
