John Hamilton Hunter JP was a Seed Merchant and son of Mathew Hunter, seed merchant
and supplier of guano from African and Peru and Rebecca Hamilton of 5 Bridge Street in
Bandon. John collaborated with composer William Power O’Donoghue on the Coronation
Hymn of Edward VII. He married Catherine Anne Bradley daughter of Elijah Bradley on
20.10.1870 at the Wesleyan Chapel at Kilrush. Catherine died at Cork in 1875 aged 26.

of 56 Buckingham Road, Brighton died on 07.04.1957.

John Hamilton-Hunter a widower married Margaret Ellen (Maggie) Geren, youngest
daughter of the late Richard Geren of Manorhamilton, Leitrim married on 30.04.1878 at
the Wesleyan Chapel in Rathmines. John died at Brooklawn on 06.03.1921. J.H. Hunter &
Co of 24 Lower Ormond Quay enclosed in his Will several recipes to his son Robert which
he hoped would be of commercial value. He left personal estate of 18K. After the death
of her husband, Brooklawn was sold as per his instructions. She moved to Brighton
Road, Rathgar before making a permanent move to England. Maggie died 29.05.1929 at
Paddington.

5 Robert Hamilton-Hunter born circa 1880 in Cork married Annie Elizabeth
Telford daughter of Stephen Telford of Barrowford, Athy on 29.11.1905 at the
Presbyterian Church, Athy. Robert died 06.12.1942 and Annie died on
02.12.1954 at Sir Patrick Dun’s Hospital. They are buried at Deansgrange.

8 Wynifred Blanche Hamilton-Hunter born 04.06.1887 at Grange, Cork. In 1914 she
worked at Monkstown House Auxilary Hospital. She transferred to the Military
hospital in Malta in 1916, to Salonika in January 1918 before transferring to the a
military hospital in Italy. She returned home in December 1918 and resumed her
role in Monkstown House Hospital. She was a member of the British Red Cross
Society & Order of St. John Joint War Committee Leinster, Munster & Connaught.
After the death of her father in 1921, she moved with her mother to England.
