the Imperial Railways of Northern China at Shanhaikuan. He was awarded the insignia of
the Order of the Double Dragon by the Emperor of China in 1905. He died 03.11.1944 in
Kent and Caroline died on 08.01.1949 at Brookvale, Stillorgan and was buried at St Brigid's,
Stillorgan.

sailed from Liverpool to Japan via the USA on 02.06.1920 giving her address as Brookvale,
Stillorgan. She was the informant of the death of Rev James Houghton Kennedy of The
Rectory Stillorgan in 1824. She died unmarried at Brookvale 15.03.1942 and was buried at
St. Brigid's Stillorgan.
5 Rachel Maud Humphreys born 03.11.1867 and died unmarried on 09.03.1952 at Abbey
Nursing Home, 7 Abbey Road Monkstown.
6 Mary Humphreys born 05.02.1869 infant daughter died 03.03.1869 at Miltown House.

married Robert Ferguson Knox Lieutenant Royal Engineers son of Ferguson Andrew Knox of
Urney Park on 08.07.1896 at Donaghmore Parish Church, Castlefin, Donegal. Robert fought
in the North West Frontier and the Boer War and died 23.10.1935 aged 67 years at his
residence Baird’s Hill House. Edith died 25.02.1960 in Kent.
8 Dashwood William Harrington Humphreys born 06.02.1872 at Miltown House, Strabane,
Dashwood a Major 1st Batallion 8th Gurkha Rifles killed in action aged 45 years on 17.02.1917
at Mesopotamia, Iraq and is commemorated on the Basra Memorial.
9 George Geoffrey Prendergast Humphreys youngest son born 17.02.1873 at Miltown House,
Strabane married Olive Muriel Bell daughter of James Alexander Bell on 30.11.1903 at Holy
Trinity Church Karachi. George a Major 127th Queen Mary’s Own Balyuch Light Infantry, was
killed in action aged 41 years on 30.10.1914 at Kemmel in Belgium.

Taylor son of Samuel Taylor of Belfast on 06.03.1912 at Ballysillan, Shankill, Antrim.
