Patrick Hosey of 6 Yankee Terrace, Newtown Park son of William Hosey and Mary Langan married
Catherine Rorke of Yankee Terrace, Blackrock daughter of John Rorke in 1904. Witnesses: Charles
Cullen and Mary Hosey. Patrick’s parents lived at 56 Stillorgan Park in 1901 and 6 Yankee Terrace,
Stillorgan in 1911. Patrick and his family moved to Kilmacud in 1911 and five of their seven children
had survived. Catherine died at Beaufield Park on 29.07.1940 and was buried at Deansgrange.
Patrick died 30.11.1941 at 44 Beaufield Park and was buried with his wife.
1 Mary (Molly) Hosey born circa 1904. Mary of Jolly' s Lane married Joseph Finnegan of 4 Verchoyle
Court, Dublin son of Patrick Finnegan on 02.10.1927 at the Roman Catholic Church in
Kilmacud. Witnesses: John Connor and Alice Finnegan.
2 Catherine Hosey born 20.11.1905 at Newtown Park. Cathleen of Kilmacud married Daniel
Hallahan an Army orderly at the Soldiers & Sailor's Hospital, Blackrock (Military
Orthopaedic Hospital) son of Daniel Hallahan on 19.05.1923 at the Roman Catholic Chapel in
Kilmacud. Witnesses: E O’Neill and Molly Hosey. They were living at 5 Jolly's lane in 1924 and
1927 when two of their children died. In later years the family lived at 41 Beaufield Park.
3 Maggie Hosey a Twin born 21.03.1907 at Newtown Park and died 24.08.1907 aged 6 months
at Newtown Park and was buried at Deansgrange.
4 Patrick Hosey a Twin born 21.03.1907 at Newtown Park and died 19.06.1907 aged 3 months
at Newtown Park and was buried at Deansgrange.
5 William Hosey born 04.06.1908 at Newtown Park. William, a labourer died unmarried of TB on
20.01.1943 aged 35 years at St Columcille’s Hospital late of 44 Beaufield Cottages, Stillorgan and
was buried at Deansgrange.
6 Frances Hosey born 26.01.1910 at Newtown Park and died on 11.03.1919 aged 9 years at
Stillorgan and was buried at Deansgrange.
7 Elizabeth Hosey born 16.03.1911 at Stillorgan.
8 Ellen Hosey born 20.03.1912 at Stillorgan married James Black son of James Black, a labourer at
Kilmacud Church on 25.02.1943. James was a private in the Irish Army and was based at Clancy
Barracks. Ellen died 03.02.1946 at 46 Annaville, Ranelagh and was buried at Deansgrange with
her parents.
9 Annie Hosey born 07.11.1913 at Stillorgan died 20 Mar 1919 and was buried at Deansgrange.
10 Rose Hosey born 09.05.1916 at Stillorgan married Michael Doyle, son of Thomas Doyle, a gardener
at Kilmacud Church on 15.10.1934. Michael was a general worker living at Woodbine Terrace,
Windy Arbour at the time of their marriage. The couple were living in Ballinteer Cottages in 1943
when their daughter died.
11 Patrick Hosey born 29.05.1917 died at Stillorgan on 27.03.1919 and was buried at
Deansgrange.
12 John Hosey born 22.01.1920 at Stillorgan died 24.10.1924 and was buried at Deansgrange.
