Edward Hill born circa 1716 at Barnhill near Rathvilly in Co Carlow. He was the son
of Richard Hill and Dorothy Glynne. He secondly married Catherine Colclough,
daughter of Henry Colclough and Margaret Beauchamp on 6 Aug 1746 at Carlow.
He died in 1771 at Barnhill.
1 John Colclough Hill baptised at Carlow on 18 Jun 1747 married Bridget Evans,
daughter of Nathaniel Evans and Helena Maria Eustace, on 27 June 1775 and
died in 1821.
2 Dudley Hill born circa 1754 married Lavinia Clerges at St Peter’s Church,
Dublin on 16 Aug 1783. He was an attorney based at Dublin Street, Carlow
and Arran Quay, Dublin. He died 1 Oct 1833 at Carlow survived by 46
grandchildren.
3 Edward Hill baptised at Carlow on 1 Apr 1764.
4 Jane Hill baptised at Carlow on 16 Aug 1765, died and was buried at Carlow
on 15 Feb 1766.
5 Beauchamp Bagenal Hill baptised at Carlow 19 Mar 1771 married Jane
Parsons, daughter of Richard P Parsons of Carrig O Gunnell, Co Limerick on
18 Dec 1793 at St Georges Church Limerick. He worked for Customs and
Excise and was posted to Athlone in 1803, then to Dublin in 1809, to Dundalk
in 1825 and Armagh in 1830. Jane died 9 Mar 1836 at Armagh aged 60. He
lived at Holywell Drummartin from 1843 to 1845. He died at Sandford
Terrace, Gardiner Street Lower in 1856.
