Charles Henry Hill born 06.12.1844 at Ely Place, son of John Hill and Henrietta Fox. He was
a barrister at law and married Fanny Chichester Tuson on 16.04.1874 at Allahabad, Bengal.
Fanny was the daughter of Edward Bailey and Frances Ann Tuson. Charles was appointed
Justice of the High Court Calcutta in 1892 and retired in 1904. He lived at Belfort (now part
of Newpark School) from 1899 to 1900 and later at Caerlyon in Killiney. He died 11.04.1905
at Devenshire Street, London and left 2K in personal estate.
1 Arthur Hugh Montgomery Hill only son born 15.09.1877 at Allahabad, India a
lieutenant in the 1st Battalion Royal Fusiliers (Princess Victoria’s) was killed in action
at the battle of Talana Hill on 20.10.1899 at Dundee, South Africa aged 21 years.
Arthur resided at his father’s residence of Belfort until he joined his regiment.
