William Hazley a Farmer
1 John Hazley born circa 1828 a grocer of Kingstown son of William Hazley married
Eliza Nordell of Blackrock daughter of Abraham Nordell, a shoemaker of Camden
Street on 04.08.1852 at Monkstown Parish Church. Witnesses John Robert Knight
and George Hazley. Hazley and Company of Blackrock were Auctioneers and
Valuers and John was living at Main Street, Blackrock. John was the Postmaster of
Blackrock and elected a Town Commissioner in 1877. His election was found to be
unconstitutional. He resigned and was re-elected. Eliza died on 07.02.1896 aged
65 years at Que Si Sana, Blackrock and John died on 18.04.1900 aged 72 years at
Howth View, Newtown, Blackrock. They are both buried at Deansgrange.
1 William Edward Hazley eldest son born circa September 1854 in Blackrock.
He emigrated to Canada in 1882 and fist settled at Winnipeg. He was a
member of the Consolidated Stationery Company. William married Elizabeth
Simmons. In 1912 he went into partnership with George Gregg of George R
Gregg, Silk Importers of Toronto. They also imported textiles, chinaware,
novelties and toys. William died intestate on 04.01.1929 aged 75 years at
his home in Toronto, Canada survived by his widow Elizabeth and daughter
Nora Baird. His son in law, James McClain Baird, a barrister undertook the
administration of the estate which exceeded 15K.

2 Nordell (Nora) Hazley born 19.08.1891.
2 Anna Maria Hazley an infant died 10.07.1857 and is buried at Deansgrange.
3 Sara Margaret Hazley born 1858 died unmarried 27.05.1890 aged 32 years at
24 Main Street, Blackrock and is buried at Deansgrange.
4 John Knight Hazley born circa 1862 at 24 Main Street married Bessie Marion
Jameson daughter of Hugh Jamison a journalist on 17.06.1891 at Rosenallis
Parish Church, Mountmellick. John traded as a coal merchant and undertaker
and was appointed Postmaster of Blackrock in place of his father in 1897. John
died on 01.11.1924 aged 62 years at 2 Idrone Terrace, Blackrock and is buried
at Deansgrange.
1 Rev John Eldon Hazley born 24.12.1893 at 24 Main Street, Blackrock
educated at Wesley College entered Trinity College in 1913. John of
Christ Church Cathedral, Waterford married Eileen May Bowen eldest
daughter of William E Bowen of Waterford on 06.06.1923 at Waterford
Cathedral. Eileen died in 1966 and John died in 1975. They are buried at
Deansgrange.
