William Haughton flour factors and was also Chairman of Great South & West Railway Company.
William married Ellen Fergusson daughter of John Fergusson of Willow Mount, Malone. Ellen* died in
1838.

1 William Haughton eldest son born 06.09.1830 educated at Trinity College 1851. Called to the
bar on 26.01.1867 he was a practising Barrister-at-Law. William married Elizabeth Susan
Celeste Durante Lewis daughter of Major General James Durant and widow of Thomas Lewis
and William Wood on 10.10.1887 in the Parish of Dunganstown. William died on 06.12.1890
aged 60 years at Kilmacurragh. Elizabeth died on 15.07.1911 aged 71 years at 81 Holland
Road, Kensington.
2 Wilfred Haughton born 30.03.1832 a Flour Merchant married Mary Ferguson eldest daughter of
John Ferguson of Belfast on 16.12.1857 at the English Church, Buenos Ayres. Wilfred died on
05.12.1904 aged 72 years and Mary died 09.02.1905 aged 70 years both at Danesfield,
Ailesbury Road, Dublin.
3 Dr Edward Haughton 3rd son born 10.10.1833. Edward of Glenbrook, Enniskerry married
Frederica Louisa Elizabeth Dixon youngest daughter of Thomas Dixon of Calpe Blackrock on
30.12.1863 at the Registrar’s Office, Dublin. They moved to London and were living at
Springrove House in Croydon from 1878.
4 James Haughton 4th son born circa 24.08.1835 a Land Commissioner married Susan Dora
Graves only daughter of late William Graves of New Ross on 31.10.1860 at Rosbercon, Kilkenny.
Susan died on 20.03.1888 aged 50 years at 12 Upper Sackville Street. James of Chelsea Lodge
married Emily Elizabeth Grix only child of Rev William Bevern Grix Headmaster of the Grammar
School in Congleton on 17.10.1893 at St Mary’s, Asthury, Congle, Cheshire. James died on
08.05.1914 aged 79 years at Duncannon, Wexford.
5 Ellen Haughton born circa 30.09.1836 married Robert Lynn Heard of Blackrock Lodge son of
Richard Heard on 13.04.1865 at Taney Church. Robert died on 31.08.1901 aged 67 at Blackrock
Lodge and Ellen died on 20.07.1924 aged 87 years in Wales.
William secondly married Anna Bell daughter of John Bell in 1840 in Belfast.
6 Edmund Haughton born circa 1842 married Laura Hermine Ottillie Friedrichs daughter of late
William Friedrichs of Stettin on the 05.02.1874 at Toxteth Congregational Chapel, Aigburth,
Liverpool.
7 Alfred John Haughton a Corn Broker born circa 1847 married Beresforde Stronge daughter of
Charles Hamilton Stronge of Berryfield on 15.11.1871 at Powerscourt Church. Alfred died on
11.03.1929 aged 82 years in London.
9 Samuel Pierson Haughton is thought to have emigrated to Australia.
10 Anna Florence Haughton younger daughter born 12.02.1848 at Moorefield married John Smyth
of Milltown, Banbridge on 15.01.1878 at the Unitarian Church, Stephens Green. Anna died
16.12.1880 at Milltown.
*Ellen and her day old infant died on 12.09.1838 at Moorfield.
