John Hancock Haughton married Dora Lydia Hewetson youngest daughter of late Henry Hewetson
MD of Fethard, Wexford. Dora died in 1856 aged 23 years and John a Widower married Frances
Croker King only daughter of Charles Croker King of Lower Gardiner Street in 1858. John died of
typhus fever on 18.02.1865 aged 44 years at Pembroke Road, Carlow and Frances died on
03.03.1898 aged 75 years at 27 Waterloo Road.

3 Isabella Mary Haughton born 28.06.1862 at Pembroke Road, Carlow died 15.08.1889 aged 27
years at 32 Sandford Road. Informant her brother Charles Haughton.
4 Charles Croker Haughton born 14.12.1863 at Carlow a Clerk in the Land Commission married
Ellen Fannie Ferguson daughter of Joseph Henry Ferguson of Molesworth Street on 02.07.1890
at St Ann’s Church, Dublin. The family were living at Fortwilliam, Cross Avenue from 1901 to
1906 and Glenart by 1910.
Both Charles and Ellen were members of the Redcross, Charles transported wounded soldiers
and Ellen was an instructress. Charles retired from the Land Commission in 1924 having
completed 43 years of service. Charles died on 02.03.1934 aged 69 years at Westdene,
Templeogue Road, Terenure.
1 Cecil Croker Handcock Haughton born 27.11.1891 at 27 Waterloo Road, Dublin. Cecil
of Glenart, Blackrock enlisted in the Army in 1918 and married Kathleen Jane Mary
Stewart Partridge daughter of Stewart Partridge of 59 Moyne Road, Rathmines on
26.10.1923 at Holy Trinity Church, Rathmines. They emigrated to Australia in
November 1923.
2 Kathleen Violet Haughton born 09.04.1893 at 27 Waterloo Road, Dublin. Kathleen
became a V.A.D. on 13.06.1915 and worked from the Dundrum Depot.
3 Handcock Terence Haughton born 01.09.1897 at 27 Waterloo Road, Dublin and died
in 1899 aged 1 year.
