The Gregg family of Clonmore and Oldtown, County Longford.
Rev Francis Thornton Gregg DD, born circa 1805, attended Trinity College and also
lectured there. He was the son of Thornton Gregg and was curate of Shrule and
made incumbent of Ballymacormick, Longford in 1842. He married Henrietta
Johnston in 1832. He was Rector of Kilglass Parish in 1869 and moved to Ardagh
in 1880. He died 24 Jul 1890 at Ardagh Rectory. His son Huband was the sole
executor and he left over 600 pounds in personal estate.

2 Thornton Francis Gregg born circa 1836 died 29 Mar 1841 at Ballymahon.
3 Rev Thomas Huband Gregg born 1 Mar 1840 at Ballymahon married Caroline
Garratt, youngest daughter of Richard Garratt of Brighton Avenue, Monkstown
at St Catherines on 28 Apr 1864. He was the Rector of Holy Trinity Church in
Southend and elected a Bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church in 1877 at
New York.

5 Huband George Gregg born circa 1847 married Janet Louisa (Jessie) Gray daughter
of Robert Gray of Temple Hill, Blackrock at Monkstown Church on 18 Sep 1873.
Jessie died 1 Sep 1881at Oldtown, Co Longford. Huband died at Grove House,
Old Windsor, Berkshire on 22 May 1941.

Huband secondly married Violet Josephine Pilkington daughter of Frederick
Pinkington of Westbury, Stillorgan at St Stephen's Church, Dublin on 5 Aug 1885.
She was 16 years his junior. Huband was a land agent and a JP. He became a
director of the Midland Great Western Railway of Ireland Company in 1908, and
was a governor of The Charles Sheils Charity. He lived at Clonmore from 1901 to 1921.
2 William Thornton Huband Gregg born 12 Jul 1886 at Oldtown, County
Longford. He was educated at Marlborough married Frances Lyndall
Schreiner, at St Georges Cathedral in Cape Town on 25 Oct 1919.
Frances was the elder daughter of the Hon W P Shreiner, High
Commissioner for the Union of South Africa. William died in 1875.
3 Hamlet Pilkington Huband Gregg born circa 1890 was educated in Wales,
immigrated to Canada and died in 1962 .
4 Violet Pilkington Huband Gregg born 22 Mar 1893 at Oldtown, Longford
married Richard William Rice Jeudwine, son of William Wynn Jeudwine.
Richard was a captain in the 'Faugh-a-Ballaghs and nephew of Sir Hugh
Jeudwine (Judy) from Cavan at St Brigid's Church, Stillorgan on 31 Jan 1912.
The church was decorated and the service was fully choral. The bride
wore ivory satin covered with old family lace and the bridesmaids wore
green. The flower girls who included two daughters of Henry Guinness,
white and pink with crochet bonnets. Violet moved to Mombasa, Kenya
in 1923 and the couple divorced in 1926. Richard secondly married
Dorothy Dover in London in 1931 and divorced in 1935. Richard thirdly
married Maisie Lehmann in 1936 and died in 1956.
1 Wynne Rice Hughes Jeudwine born 12 Nov 1920 baptised at
Stillorgan Parish Church.
