Edward Greene of 11 Gardiner Place son of Arthur and Frances Greene married Adelaide Reid of 3
Pembroke Terrace daughter of Alexander Reid in 1859. Adelaide died in 1883. Edward was Chief
Clerk of the Kings Bench Division for 26 years. He was appointed a Perpetual Commissioner for
taking Acknowledgements of Deeds by Married Women in the County of Dublin in 1888 by Sir Michael
Morris Bart the Lord Chief Justice of Ireland. They lived at Newstead between 1893 and 1901.

a Barrister in Dublin married Augusta Frances Reade on 02.08.1890 at Christ Church, Dublin.
Augusta died on 08.02.1931 aged 64 years and Arthur died on 31.01.1932 aged 71 years both
at 4 De Vesci Terrace, Dun Laoghaire.
1 Adelaide Ierne Carew Greene born 10.06.1894 at 14 Corrig Avenue. Adelaide died on
05.11.1950 at Tivoli Nursing Home late of 4 Sandycove Avenue. Informant: Norah

2 Norah Theresa Jackson Greene born 18.06.1898 at 14 Corrig Avenue.
2 Ernest Henry Greene 2nd son born 04.10.1861 of 12 North Frederick Street baptised at St
George’s Church. Ernest a Barrister-at-Law married Georgiana Mabel Kate Fraser-Tytler
daughter of George Michel Fraser-Tytler of Keith Marischal, East Lothian on 22.04.1897 at St
John’s Episcopal Church, Edinburgh. They were living at 1 Cappog, Monaghan in 1911.
Georgiana died on 15.07.1931 at the Cedars, Ewyas Harold, Hereford and Ernest died on
10.11.1937 aged 77 years at the Cap, Pontrilas, Hereford.
3 Catherine Frances Greene only surviving daughter born circa 1863 of 10 Landsdowne Road
married John Michael Alyward Lewis of Ballynagar son of John Michael Lewis on 29.08.1890 at St
Bartholomew’s Church. Catherine died on 11.08.1956 and is buried with her father in
Deansgrange.
1 Kathleen Adelaide Lewis born 29.08.1890 at 16 Palmerston Road living with her
Grandparents Edward and Mary in 1911 at 22 Temple Road.
4 Edward Bernard Greene youngest son born 31.03.1864 at 2 Eglington Avenue. Edward of
Thorndale Milltown married Norah Letitia North younger daughter of George North of 110
Colchene Court, Earlscourt on 23.06.1906 at Calcutta Cathedral. Edward a Tea Planter died
27.08.1916 aged 52 years at Darjeeling and buried at Sington Cemetery. Probate to Arthur A
Greene and Ernest H Greene.
5 Adelaide Brerton Greene born 13.01.1867 at 2 Eglington Avenue, Kingstown and died aged 1
year in 1868.
Edward married secondly Mary Elizabeth Fraser Tytler, an Author and eldest daughter of James
Stuart Fraser Tytler JP of Woodhouselee, Rosslyn, Midlothian in 1889 in Edinburgh.
