Occupation Physician. Chairman of the Vartry Water Works Committee. Knighted
30th June 1863. MP for Kilkenny 1865- 1875. Supporter of the Home
Rule movement. Owner of Freeman’s Journal.
Statue erected in his honour on O’Connell St. Dublin in 1878.
Died 9 April 1875, Bath.
