Philip Gilmore born circa 1865 of 173 Strand Road, Merrion son of John Gilmore a land steward in
County Antrim married Frances (Fanny) Angus daughter of John Angus a Ships Chandler of 3 Hillside
Terrace in Howth on 05.08.1895 at the Registrar’s Office in Dublin. Witnesses were William Ernest
Lee and Alice Angus. Philip served his apprenticeship as an Accountant with Craig Gardner.
Philip started his own practice: Philip Gilmore, Auditors & Accountants with an office on 8 Anglesea
Street, Dublin. The Gilmore family were living in Howth in 1911 moved to Bellosquardo, Blackrock in
1918, Kilakee, Rathfarnham in 1921 and Dundrum in 1941. After Frances died in 1941 Philip moved
back to Dungannon.

Grangegorman Hospital, Dublin in 10.09.1928 aged 32 years late of Rockbrook,
Rathfarnham.
2 George Frederick Gilmore born 05.05.1898 at Hillside Terrace, Howth. George Gilmore was
an Irish Republican Army leader during the 1920s and 1930s. George died on 20.06.1985
and is buried at St Fintans Dublin.
3 Nora Gilmore born 31.03.1900 at Howth and died on 06.06.1911 aged 11 years at 5 Warren
Point, Clontarf and is buried at St Fintans.
4 Charles (Charlie) Spurgeon Gilmore born 04.06.1902 at 2 Hillside Terrace, Howth. Charlie
was a Unit Quartermaster of the IRA. Charlie died 05.01.1987 and is buried at St Fintans.
5 Philip Henry (Harry) Gilmore born 11.11.1903 at 2 Hillside Terrace, Howth. Eliza Angus,
Grandmother present at birth. Harry was an IRA Officer in South Dublin. Harry died on
23.05.1978 and is buried at St Fintans, Dublin.
6 Dorothy Alice Gilmore born 18.11.1905 at 2 Hillside Terrace, Howth. Dorothy died on
21.10.1975 and is buried at St Fintans Dublin.
