John Fogarty born 23.06.1875 son of Edward Fogarty, a tailor and Catherine Kinsella. He was a
car driver of Carysfort Avenue when he married Sarah Fagan of Georges Avenue on 10.11.1895
at Booterstown Chapel. Sarah was the daughter of Patrick Fagan, a gardener and Ellen Keogh.
By 1898 they were living at Kilmacud. John worked for Michael Kelly, a car owner in Sweetman's
Avenue and they lived at 3 Pender's Cottages. Sarah died 22.02.1927 at Stillorgan and is buried
at Deansgrange. John died 13.10.1946 late of 5 Kilmacud Road and is buried with wife.
1 Ellen Fogarty born 20.12.1895 at 29 Carysfort Avenue. Ellen married William Harrington an
Asylum Attendant at St John of God, Stillorgan son of Michael Harrington on 27.08.1924 at
St Laurence’s Chapel. Witnesses: Michael Harrington and Kitty Fogarty. They lived at 2
Pender's Cottages and William later worked for Rubber Company in Abbey Street,

2 Thomas Fogarty born 02.05.1897 at 36 Temple Road. Thomas, a painter married Margaret
Anderson of Annaville Avenue, Newtown Park on 02.02.1921 at the Chapel in Blackrock.

3 Kate (Catherine) Mary Fogarty born 03.05.1898 at Kilmacud. Catherine married Edward
Joseph Wheatley an electrician of 4 Hyacinth Street, Dublin son of Edward Wheatley on
06.07.1932 at Kilmacud Chapel. Witnesses: Brendan Wheatley and Margaret Pender.
4 Edward John Fogarty 16.10.1902 at Kilmacud. In 1922 aged 20 years Edward was a 2nd
Lieutenant stationed at Harbour Barracks, Dun Laoghaire. Edward, a soldier stationed at
Keogh Barracks (now known as Richmond Barracks) possibly married Teresa Coyle daughter
of Peter Coyle on 03.03.1924 at St Pauls, Arran Quay. Edward a painter died of meningitis
on 06.05.1943 aged 40 years at St Michael’s Hospital, Dun Laoghaire late of 1 Galloping
Green.
1 Peter Fogarty born circa 1926 died on 30.08.1928 aged 2 years at the Adelaide
Hospital late of Galloping Green.
5 John Fogarty born 27.08.1904 at Kilmacud was a brush maker and worked for the Varian
family. He married Mary Hannon of 4 Grove Avenue, Blackrock daughter of Edward Hannon
on 23.11.1936 at the Roman Catholic Church in Blackrock.
6 Patrick Fogarty born 15.02.1907 at Stillorgan. Patrick died of TB on 03.01.1932 at Harold's
Cross Hospice late of Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan.
