Dublin. William was a solicitor to the Bank of Ireland and to the Commissioners of Wide Streets
and to other public boards. William died 22.03.1836 at St John's, Kimmage and Ann died
17.09.1869 at Balrothery.
1 Henry Farran Darley born circa 1809 married Alice Shaw only daughter of Ponsonby Shaw of
Friarstown at Tallaght on 01.09.1837. They lived at Montpelier House, Monkstown from 1862
to 1874. Henry was treasurer for the county of the city of Dublin in 1846 and was solicitor to
the Wide Street Commission and to the Bank of Ireland. Henry died 06.06.1874 at Folkestone
and left 4K in personal estate. Alice died on 10.10.1888 at 15 Morehampton Road and left 2K
in personal estate.
1 William Shaw Darley born circa 1839 married Frances Digges La Touche, only daughter
of George Digges La Touche on 21.05.1862 at Monkstown.
2 Alice Emily Darley eldest daughter born 15.07.1840 married Henry Darley Crozier
Capt Royal Engineers son of Thomas Crozier of Seafield on 26.04.1866 at
Monkstown Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev William Shaw Darley
brother of the bride.
3 Henry Ponsonby Shaw Darley 2nd son born 12.09.1844 at 95 Upper Leeson Street
married Charlotte Elizabeth Bradshaw 2nd daughter of Robert Bradshaw MD and JP
of Carrick-on-Shannon on 12.09.1877 at Carrick-on-Shannon Church. The ceremony
was performed by Rev William Shaw Darley brother of the bridegroom.

graveyard.
4 Mary Darley 2nd daughter married Rev John Leech of Downshire Place, Newry on
09.05.1839 at Rathfarnham. In the 1870’s Rev John Leech of Mitchelstown owned 194 acres
in that county and 4848 acres in county Mayo. John died 01.08.1899.

6 Josephine Darley fourth daughter born 14.03.1816 and died on 17.03.1836 aged 20 years
at St John’s, Kimmage, her father dying a few days later.

Russell, at Rathfarnham Parish Church on 22.07.1851.

born 21.10.1829 2nd daughter of Joseph Watkins a Brewer of Elm Park on 12.11.1850 at
Donnybrook Church. Joseph died 24.02.1874 at 5 Read’s Road, Leeson Park and Catherine
died 06.12.1909 and is buried in Wicklow.

Anne died 19.01.1923 in Devon.

unmarried on 14.02.1937 aged 85 years.
3 Joseph Watkins William Darley born 29.08.1853 a Captain in the 4th Dragoon
Guards. Joseph served in Egypt and was killed on 17.01.1885 at the Battle of Abiu-
Klea in Sudan.
4 Alfred Edward Darley D.L., 2nd son born 22.09.1854 at 14 Upper Leeson Street
married Elizabeth Maria Kennedy on 06.04.1891. Alfred died on 02.02.1942 aged 87
years.
