William Dalton son of the late John Dalton, a servant married Eliza Anne Brennan at Dunganstown
Parish Church, Co Wicklow on 12 May 1866. (Witnesses John Brennan and John Stephens). Eliza was
the daughter of the late John Brennan, labourer and was a servant living at Kilcandra near Glenealy.
William was a servant working for Col H L Ellis at Sea Park, Magherymore (Brittas Bay). The lived in a
cottage on the grounds and by 1901 William was butler/house steward. They had eight children of
whom seven had survived in 1911. William was a pensioner living at Oakley Road, Ranelagh in 1911.
He died 12 May 1913 at Oakley Road. His son J R Dalton of 15 Maxwell Road, the informant. Eliza
died at 35 Oakley Road on 30 Dec 1913, her daughter Elizabeth the informant.
1 William Dalton born 6 Feb 1869 at Magherymore married Annie Maria Flowers at Rathdrum
Parish Church on 10 Aug 1898. (Witnesses John Robert Dalton and Isaac Flowers). Annie
was the daughter of Isaac Flower Master of the Rathdrum Workhouse. William was an
ironmonger living in Rathmines. They were living at Edenvale Road Ranelagh in 1901 and
William was a wholesale hardware man. His father in law Isaac and his brother Thomas
lived with them. William died 12 Mar 1903 at Jervis Street Hospital late of 31 Edenvale Road.
Annie Maria and her two sons were living at Beechwood Avenue in 1911. Annie died at 33
Lower Beechwood Avenue, Ranelagh on 25 Sep 1918. Her son Reginald was the informant.

2 Christina Dalton born 25 Feb 1870 at Magherymore. Christina was a shop assistant living
at the YMCA in Rutland Square in 1901 and an unmarried draper living with her parents in
1911 at Oakley Road.
3 John Robert Dalton born 13 Sep 1872 at Maghreymore married Anna Maria (Annie) Tweedall
at Sandford Church on 29 Aug 1900. Annie was the daughter of Jacob Tweedall, a cutler.
John was a outfitters assistant and they were living at Edenvale Road in 1901. By 1911 John
was a clerk and they were living at Maxwell Road in Rathmines. Annie’s brother Anthony lived
with them.
1 Ernest Edmond Dalton born 15 May 1905 at 11 Edenvale Road died at Victoria, Australia
in 1984.
4 Alfred Edward Dalton born 14 Aug 1874 at Magherymore married Margaret (Maggie) Magee
at Belfast on 28 Sep 1904. Alfred was an RIC Constable based in Calvin Street Ormeau, Down
in 1911. Margaret died 7 Jan 1932 at Ballymullan, Clandeboye.

her parents in Oakley Road.
6 Thomas Arthur Dalton born 29 Nov 1878 at Magherymore living with his brother William
in Ranelagh in 1901 was working as a commercial clerk. Thomas an ironmonger of Oakley
Road married Jane Elizabeth Smith of Moyne Road at Holy Trinity Church, Rathmines on
6 Jan 1910. Jane was the daughter of William Smith, an employee of Bank of Ireland.
Thomas died 29 Mar 1919 at the Royal Hospital, late of Ranelagh.

7 Ernest Gerard Dalton born 10 Jul 1885 at Magherymore was a draper living with his parents
in 1911 at Oakley Road.
