Christopher (Christie) Craven of Goatstown son of Richard and Mary Craven married Kate Rooney of
Goatstown daughter of John and Jane Rooney at Holy Cross Chapel in 1892. Witnesses: William
Sheehan and Lizzie Byrne. Christoper was a labourer and Catherine took in nurse children. The family
lived at 31 Drummartin (Neilstown) from 1896 to 1902 and at Jolly's Lane from 1911 - 1918. Five of
their seven children survived until 1911.
1 Mary Josephine Craven born 08.03.1893 at Concrete Hall, Milltown married Michael Downey,
son of Michael Downey, a farmer at Kilmacud Church on 26.09.1918. Michael was a soldier living
at St Joseph's Terrace, Limerick at the time of his marriage.
2 Richard Craven born 20.02.1896 at Neilstown, Dundrum was a labourer and died 24.06.1917 at
Stillorgan.
3 Thomas Craven born circa 1897.
4 Maggie Craven born circa 1898 died 01.05.1900 at Neilstown, Dundrum.
5 John Craven born 23.01.1900 at Neilstown, Dundrum married Mary Keane, daughter of Thomas
Keane, a gardener at Holy Cross Church, Dundrum on 10.05.1933. Mary was a domestic living
at Windy Arbour. John of Windy Arbour was the informant at his mother’s death.
6 Anne Craven born 11.04.1902 at Neilstown, Dundrum died of Rheumatic Fever at the Royal City
of Dublin Hospital on 13.02.1913.
