Henry William Colvin born circa 1847 son of H Colvin of Spiddal County Galway married Catherine
Harraghy at St Werburgh’s Church in Dublin on 14 Dec 1875. Henry was the son of Henry Colvin,
a coastguard and he was an Irish Church Mission Scripture reader living at 14 Parliament Street at
the time of his marriage. Catherine was the daughter of Peter John Herraghy, a farmer and was
living at 19 Luke Street. He became a missionary and teacher and was on the select vestry of the
Mission Church in Townsend Street. He died 4 Nov 1882 at the Adelaide Hospital late of 9 Lurgan
Street, Smithfield from Typhus fever and was interred in Mount Jerome leaving £300 in personal
estate.
1 Elizabeth Selina Jane Colvin born 26 Sep 1876 at 9 Lurgan Street, Smithfield was the church
of Ireland school principal from 1898 to 1906 living at Schoolhouse Lodge. She resigned in
1906 to take a teaching post in Claremorris and by 1911 she was a preacher living in Lislea,
Aclare, Sligo in 1911 and a member of the Episcopalian Church.
2 Louisa Catherine (louise Kathleen) Colvin born 6 Mar 1879 at 9 Lurgan Street living with her
sister at Stillorgan in 1901 and was living in Sligo with her sister in 1911.
3 Mary Colvin born 15 Dec 1881 at 9 Lurgan Street, Smithfield.
