Percy George Francis Clement born circa 1863 in Co Wicklow youngest son of Dixie
Clement and Anne Hamilton of Wicklow. He was a bank clerk of Athlone and married
Sarah Alice Whalley at Chester on 12.08.1887. Sarah was the second daughter of John
Whalley of Ashfield House, Chester and they moved to King Street, Athlone. They lived
at 5 Park Villas, Stillorgan from 1930 to 1940. Alice was in a car accident when the car
she was in, driven by her daughter, collided with another car at Sydney Avenue. She died
from her injuries at Elpis Nursing Home on 07.11.1937 late of Ardhu, Park Villas. Percy
died at Hampstead Asylum (a home for demented gentlemen according to James Joyce)
late of Ardhu, 5 Park Villas, Stillorgan on 10.02.1940 and was buried at St Brigid’s. Both
are buried at St Brigid’s, Stillorgan.
