William Joseph born circa 1859 in Queens County married Mary Byrne from New Ross in 1882
at Leeds. In 1911 the couple had 10 children of whom 9 were still alive. William was a
commercial traveller, boot manufacturer and shopkeeper living in Leeds in both 1901 and 1911.
Mary died in 1915 and William moved back to Ireland. William, a sheet plate manufacturer died
on 16 Jun 1949 at Friarsland and left 16K in personal estate.
1 Annie Clarkson born circa 1884 was working as a teacher working in Leeds in 1901 and
married Harry Toff in 1906.
2 Francis William Clarkson born circa 1886 in Bramley was an agent in 1901.
3 Vincent Joseph Clarkson born circa 1887 in Cork, was an Insurance Agent. He served in
WW1 as a sergeant in the RAMC.
4 Ellen (Eileen) Clarkson born 29 Oct 1888 at 3 Lee Mills Place, Waterford Quay.
5 Mary Elizabeth Clarkson born circa 1893 in Leeds, and was a school teacher, in 1911.
She lived with her brother Anthony at Friarsland and was living at Drayton Lodge,
Monkstown in 1968.
6 William Joseph Clarkson born 1894 at Leeds was working as a clerk in 1911. In 1928
William, a motor engineer, of Leeds died in 1928. When his remains were being brought
back to Leeds by his wife and relatives from Glasgow his five year old son fell through
the train window and was killed.
7 Mary Josephine Clarkson.
8 Anthony Leo Clarkson born circa 1897 at Leeds. He served in WW1 as an acting sergeant
in the RAMC. He moved to Ireland circa 1930 with his sister and father. He lived at
Friarsland and ran a poultry farm. He sold off the furniture at Friarsland in 1961 and
moved to Drayton Lodge, Monkstown. He died, a bachelor, late of Drayton Lodge, at Sir
Patrick Dun’s Hospital on 28 Sep 1968. He left 6K in personal estate.
