James Clarke married Charlotte Baley on 23 Apr 1837 at SS Michael & John's Church. James was a
gas fitter. Charlotte died at 12 Denzille Street on 3 Mar 1871 aged 58 and was buried at Glasnevin.
James died at 12 Denzille Street on 12 Jan 1892 aged 73.
1 Eliza Clark born circa 1840, last surviving daughter died at 12 Denzille Street on 22 Nov 1878
and was buried at Glasnevin.
2 James P Clark, baptised SS Michael and John on 7 Oct 1841. Late of Sandymount Green,
James died 7 Nov 1878. Funeral left Denzille Street and he was buried at Glasnevin.
3 John Edward Clark born 1851 in Dublin city married Jane Josephine (Jennie) Weddick, daughter
of Michael Weddick, Master of the North Dublin Union at St Joseph’s Church, Berkley Road
(Summerhill) on 27 Dec 1882. John was a solicitor of Denzille Street and Jane lived at 8 St
James’s Tce, NCR. They moved to Laurel Hill in Blackrock in 1894 and John’s business address
was 37 Westmoreland Street. John died 14 Feb 1905 at Laurel Hill. His funeral was at St John
the Baptist Church, Blackrock and he was buried at Deansgrange. Jane died 15 Jun 1909 at
Laurel Hill aged 53 and was buried with her husband. Dorothea and Maud continued to live at
Laurel Lodge after the death of their parents. Their ex governess and aunt, Annie Weddick lived
with them until her death in 1917.

& John. She attended Loretto Abbey Convent School.
2 Francis John Clark born 7 Oct 1885 at 9 Sydney Avenue died a bachelor on 2 Nov 1914 at
Laurel Lodge.
3 James Arthur Clark, second son born 28 May 1887 a solicitors apprentice died a bachelor
of pneumonia 5 Apr 1910 at Laurel Hill.
4 Dorothea Mary (Thea) Clarke, second daughter born 27 Oct 1888 at Headfort Lodge,
Avoca Avenue married Stephen Mackenzie, a ship’s usher and son of Stephen M
Mackenzie, of Ardenza, Blackrock, a ship’s usher at John the Baptist Church in Blackrock
on 12 Jun 1917.

3 Richard Clark born circa 1853 was living at Denzille Street when he married Emelina Kinsella,
daughter of Garrett Kinsella, a Custom House officer of Lower Mount Pleasant Avenue at St Mary’s
RC in Rathmines 9 May 1882. Richard was a geologist and worked as an official of The Geological
Survey of Ireland. He was considered one of the leading authorities on Fossils. Richard died at
58 Kenilworth Park 29 Oct 1933 and was buried at Mount Jerome. Emelina died at Ivanhoe,
Kenilworth Park on 16 Jan 1939.
1 Mary Adrienne (May) Clark born circa 1885 married Alan Bruce Kidd an insurance
inspector of Alan B Kidd, Insurance Brokers at St Andrew Church, Booterstown on
12 Aug 1913. He was the son of James Kidd, a merchant of Kenilworth Park, Rathgar.
Alan was Hon Secretary of the Golfing Union of Ireland for over 20 years. He died
10 Dec 1948 at 6 Cambridge Tce, Leeson Street aged 62.
1 Flora Adrienne Kidd born 22 Mar 1914 at Auburn Tce, Donnybrook married
Henry Dalph Shore of the Provencial Bank in 1942.
2 Richard B Clarke born 13 Dec 1886 at 41 Frankfort Avenue was a Gas Expert in 1911
with the Gas Company. Fl 1948.
3 Harmon Edward Clarke born 5 Jul 1889 at Upper Leeson Street was an art student in
1911 married Elizabeth (Betty) and they lived at Kenilworth Park. Harmon was an
advertising agent and worked for the Freeman’s Journal. He died 11 Feb 1938 at
Ivanhoe, Rathgar the home of his mother and was buried at Mount Jerome. Elizabeth
of Harold’s Cross Road died 7 Aug 1956 at Vergemont Hospital, Clonskeagh.
4 James Herbert Clark born 3 Aug 1893 at 5 Clifton Tce, Rathmines was a dentist apprentice
in 1911, fl 1933.
