Thomas Brownregg Howe born 1849 at sea son of Thomas Howe, surgeon RN. He was a
photographer and owner of the Fancy and Fine Art Repository at 42 Northbrook Street,
Newbury. He married Elizabeth Sophia Beckwith on 3 Nov 1866 at Christchurch, Tunbridge
Wells. Elizabeth was the daughter of Parker Thomas Beckwith, a bazaar keeper. They
were living with their seven children at Northbrook Street in 1881 and Elizabeth had died
by 1891. Thomas sold his business as a going concern in 1893.
1 Gertrude Bessie second daughter born circa 1868 born in Tonbridge, Kent married
William (Frank) Pickard at Tom’s River, New Jersey USA on 16 Apr 1893. Frank was of
Lakewood, New Jersey.
2 Thomas Bruce Howe born circa 1870 at Newbury, Berkshire married Emily Page on
28 Mar 1898 at All Saints, Leamington Spa. Emily was the daughter of Thomas Page,
fishmonger. He served during WW1 and was living in Cornwall in 1927.
Thomas, a poultry farmer and widower of 3 Terenure Park secondly married Emily (Eva)
Thompson at the Registrars office in Dublin on 19 Aug 1935. Eva was resident at 24
Westbourne Estate, Rathfarnham and was the daughter of Edward Thompson, a
farmer. They were living at the Gatelodge of The Grange in 1936.
3 Alice Maud Howe third daughter born circa 1872 at Newbury, Berkshire married Frank
Skinner Thompson at the Wesleyan Chapel, Newbury on 26 Dec 1893.
4 Jessie Blanche Howe born circa 1873 at Newbury, Berkshire died at Northbrook-street
on 25 Apr 1893.
5 Miriam May (Minnie) Howe born circa 1874 in Newbury, Berkshire married William
Edwin Larcombe at the Wesleyan Chapel, Bridgewater, Somerset on 26 May 1904.
6 Winifred Grace Howe born 20 Jun 1875 at Newbury, Berkshire married William
Robinson Fowler in 1909. William died on 22 Mar 1930 at Fair View, Twerton, Bath.
Winifred died in 1941 at Bath.
7 Sidney William Howe born 24 Aug 1879 in Newbury, Berkshire. He was a ladies
hairdresser of 17 Redcliffe Road, South Kensington and married in 1910.
Thomas secondly married Sarah Rose Clifford from East Woodhay Hants at Greenwich in 1899.
They were living at 9 Newbridge Road, Bath, Somerset in 1911 and Thomas continued to
work as a photographer with premises at Milsom Street, Bath. Thomas left the family home in
1913 and was sued through the courts in 1917 for maintenance of his wife and their two
children. Thomas died 20 Nov 1920 at Hove, Sussex late of Hinton Lodge, Newbridge Hill, Bath.
Sarah died a widow on 26 Jan 1946 at Newbury aged 83.
8 Muriel Howe born 1896 at Weston, Somerset married Sidney Charles and lived at Bath.
9 Cyril Howe born 14 Dec 1904 at Bath, Somerset worked for Curry Opticians Pareton Ltd
and was later a successful photographer of 14 Cheap Street and 44 Milsom Street, Bath.
