Sir Simon Broadstreet died 1773 Kilmainham.
Sir Samuel Bradstreet was the 2nd son of Sir Simon Bradstreet 1st Baronet of Kilmainham and Ellen
Bradstreet daughter of Samuel Bradstreet of Gowran, Kilkenny. Educated at Trinity College and
called to the Bar by the Middle Temple in 1758 becoming King’s Counsel in 1767. An Irish Politician,
Barrister and Judge he was known as “Slippery Sam” not because he was corrupt but because no
party could count on his support.
Samuel married Elizabeth Tully only daughter and heiress of Dr James Tully MD of the Parish of
Glasnevin in 1771. He succeeded his older brother Simon as 3rd Baronet.

1 Sir Simon Bradstreet born circa 25.11.1772 at Mespil, Upper Leeson Street and baptised on
26.12.1771 at St Peter’s Church and became 4th Baronet on the death of his Father in 1791.
Simon a barrister married Clare Margaret Murphy daughter of John Murphy on 01.01.1808.
He died on 25.10.1853 aged 80 years at Clontarf and is buried at Glasnevin. Clare died on
12.11.1869 at St Jean de Luz, France.
1 Sir John Valentine Bradstreet eldest son and 5th Baron born 22.09.1815 and married
Dońa Josefa De Vinuesa daughter of Don Vincente Xaviee De Vinuesa of Burgos in
1836. Josepha died on 07.02.1879 aged 70 years and John died on 21.11.1889 both
at Castilla, Clontarf. They are buried at Glasnevin.
2 Sir Edmund Simon Victor Bradstreet born circa 24.08.1820 in France and 6th Baron
married circa January 1846 Emily Matilda Sophia Marion de Gaza daughter of
General de Marion de Gaza and Matilda Fitzgerald at Campane, Haute Pyrenees.
Emily died on 26.06.1883 at St Jean de Luz and Edmund died on 30.03.1905 aged
84 years late of Castella, Clontarf at Woodbrook, Portarlington the home of Alice
Wilmot Chetwode. The family were living at Clontarf in 1901.
1 Anne Matilda Clare Bradstreet born circa 1848 late of Pau Bas Pyranees,
France died 22.05.1916.
2 Geraldine Mary Emily Bradstreet born circa 1851.
3 Sophia Alicia Bradstreet born circa 1854.
4 Sir Edward Simon Victor Bradstreet born circa 1856 7th Baron married
Fortunee May Fiori daughter of Mons. Fiori of Bougie, Algeria on 01.12.1888.
1 Lieut Gerald Edmund Bradstreet born 1891 in Africa and was killed in
action on 07.12.1915.
3 Elizabeth Bradstreet married Monsieur Ducos.
1 Charles Ducos of St Jean de Luz born circa 1842 died 15.02.1859 at
Clongowes Wood College Kildare, aged 17 buried with his Grandfather Sir
Simon Bradstreet.
4 Caroline married M le Comdt de Lavalette. Caroline died 04.05.1859.
5 Maria Annabella Bradstreet married Marie Pierre “Marc” Demont d’Aurensan of
Tarbes, France on 27.08.1851 at Bagnères-de-Bigorre.
6 Alicia Elinor Bradstreet died unmarried on 11.0.1897 at Bagnères-de-Bigorre, France.

5 John Bradstreet youngest son born circa 1778 married Mary Bell in July 1804 at Chichester.
John died circa 18.12.1831 at Versailles.
1 Simon Bradstreet only son born 1811 died 15.06.1828 aged 17 years at Versailles.
